I remember someone saying this about 2 years ago or so. Do you think it was the case then, and do you think it is still the case now?
I have always thought that Bute tried to imitate Calzaghes style a few years back but I think he has definitely developed his own style now.
Not really. He doesn't slap for one. He's a slick southpaw boxer with power, while Calzaghe is an aggressive southpaw volume puncher with little power. They do look kinda alike from a distance though.
Back in the day wasn't Calzaghe knockin dudes out? I thought he started slapping cause of his hand injuries.
yeh hand injuries altered his way of throwing from way back [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ_Vt6h0z4w[/ame] ^^was punching with more authority here. ---and yes when i first saw Bute thats exactly what i thought. I mean he used to wear identical trunks to Calzaghe from w hat i remember
They look similar have the same hair are southpaws have similar stances move similar and fight fast with jabs and straight lefts. I find the similarity's pretty interesting.
No he's nowhere near even that level. Bute beats that punching bag andrade after losing to him and suddenly he's an elite gotta laugh.
No. No disrespect to Cal, I've grown to appreciate him more as of late, but Bute can actually Box. Cal was a fighter built on workrate and SOME Boxing ability while Bute is VERY well schooled. Bute is no poor man's anyone.
