Maxime is right ...you guys kind of judge who should be nr1 by comparing their opponents "names"(reputation) and not the actual performances at that point(Supermiddleweight division).
Maxime, contrary to several other posters MichiganWarrior, Soutpaw something.. and perhaps even myself you try pretty hard to not be too biased. I respect that and you know I do. My three favorite fighters are 1. Bute, 2. Kessler, 3. Froch.. in that order. Dirrell is my 4th favorite by the way - I think he is a great fighter and unlike Ward, he fights clean. Sure, he is a bit of a ***** still, but once he stops wit hthe holding and falling down (which are not deliberate fouling, just being scared) then we have a top top top fighter). However, I can admit that Froch has beaten the better people, Kessler the second-best and Bute the third best. I think you will agree that this is how most people would analyse their adversaries if asked (e.g. is Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell a more impressive trifecta than Andrade, Bika and Berrio?). Given Pascal's success at LHW, Taylor's overall achievements (mostly at MW, but still), and Dirrell bright future at SMW.. this is most probably how it will stay - and also be looked upon in the future. I understand you wish to qualify this and so on, but I do think you agree with me here.
Who has he beaten other then sluggers and journey men boxers? I can't wait till Chad Dawson smashes him. And lets say Pascal beats Chad Dawson, Pascal will smash Bute. Both Pascal and Dawson are cut above Bute.
Dirrell's win over Abraham is better then other opponent that Bute has beaten. There is no clear #1 SMW, I think the winner of SM6 tourney should be considered the #1 SMW. And yes you are a biased Bute fan.
