Given what has been show in the UFC Primetime episodes, I think Velazquez and his team are emphasizing the stand-up as a key to winning the fight with Lesnar.
You don't have to know and be great at every single facet of wrestling to negate it. Even if Brock had a clear advantage grappling against Cain, which he doesn't, all Cain needs to do is top the takedown. If you watch collegiate matches top wrestlers don't rag doll each other, normally the matches are very close. Carwin had zero problem stuffing Brocks takedowns, nor did a 220lb Randy. Brocks mma wrestling is very overrated because of Mir, the same Mir who also happens to be the worst heavyweight wrestler in mma. Brock's takedowns aren't all that fast and are telegraphed, i think Cain should do fine.
Yeah just think he has the tat to show his love for his heritage etc..I got the australian flag tat'd on my chest with born and bred above it..No real statement other then my own pride/love towards my country of birth.. Though some people see it as alot more then what it really is..Mostly foreigners here in oz...My fokes came on the boat from Ireland in early 70's so doesnt faze me what others think.. Some people take tats etc way out of context nowadays..
Brock did actually take Randy and Carwin down, the problem is IMHO that he really didnt have much to keep them down. When you have two quality wrestlers facing each other the key to one of them controling the other on the ground is generall one guys ability to advance position or threaten with subs. Lesnar may have subbed Carwin when he was gassed but I can't for example see him taking Cain's back and putting the hooks in. Generally Brock doesnt strike me as someone who's going to take advanatge of scambles for position but rather someone who slowly advances. It worked well vs Heath and Mir because he was just having to defend the sweep and subs, Cain though is likely going to be just looking to escape.
