i disagree. He had a lot of talent but it was not frightening. Don't get me wrong, this is meant more as a compliment to his work ethic than a knock to his ability. To get to where he was on the P4P list is an incredible feat, especially because personally watching him fight I did not see greatness. What I saw was a fighter with very good skills, hand and foot speed and an amazing ability to adapt to his opponents. He was skilled and smart but not a naturally gifted athlete on a jones or leonard level.

I don't think so really. When I think of supreme natural talent, I think of someone like Roy Jones Jr. Calzaghe was a model profesional, who managed his career well, and had exceptional amounts of stamina, and a great work ethic, natural, god-given, Roy Jones-esqe talent? Not so much.

His natural talent is outstanding IMO.

This is a guy that was sheltered away in a crappy old gym sparring Bradley Pryce and Gary Lockett every day. What he showed was amazing all things considered.

Had he had proper tough sparring everyday that really pushed him to improve even more he might have been even better.

you are a clown i have made this thread taking the **** out of enzo and joe yet you think i am a big fan of his :patsch:patsch

  12. Look, I didn't read every post (why would anyone ever do that?) so if I got your drift wrong my apologies. Last thing I want to do is trouble any one of the half dozen guys on ESB with sensible perspectives on JC's career. That would be like killing an endangered species. lol

Here, watch Joe setting his record again and have a good laugh it will make ya feel better about the mistake:

It's ok it was mainly a dig at enzo bloody trainer of the year when he couldn't train **** all, joe was without doubt a talented guy but anyone knows he didn't fight the best all the time or at the best times.
I give joe a pass on sven ottke cause ottke was never gonna fight joe in a fair fight outside germany. I also give joe a pass on not fighting hopkins ealier as they had a deal agreed in 2002 (i think) and hopkins pulled out wanting double money. However anything else wrong with his legacy is down to himself and frank warren.
