I may be wrong but the situation with will McIntyre was that Wassen was trying to arrange a Calzaghe Echols fight on the Tyson bill. As almost always happens when Wassen books a really good opponent, it was probably an attempt at a namesdrop and there was no true intention of facing echols. In fact no contract had been signed at all with echols. But Joe was desperate to fight on the Tyson undercard because without being with Tyson it would be another unknown defence against an unknwon, so they went ahead with a crap 'substitute' in McIntyre. -the idea being that defending against an unknown again would be migitated this time by it being a known, popular bill.

so wassen instead brought in will McIntyre to 'replace' echols who hadn't actually signed in the first place.

its been a while since I saw that nontitle Tyson fight and I wasn't particularly noticing the undercards to it so I might not be 100% with all the details understandably.

I cant remember if that was preinjury or post injury echols that was being puppetted. if it was preinjury, calzaghe?/wassen? was right to puppet him, he was way too dangerous. but post injury echols with one arm I am pretty sure Calzaghe would have at least SDed him in Cardiff.

bailey I am actually trying to support joe, so I am not sure why you asking for a link.

I am writing from memory in a newspaper about the Tyson/Neilsen(??) fight, but I don't lie about stuff, that's something you should know about me. Theres no need for lies from my point of view. The style of what I wrote fits Wassen down to a tee, its what he did for breakfast every day, pretend to sign big and then bring in small, just happened with Clev.
I don't know if Joe went along with Wassens plans or not, but that Frank W is a horrible little liar of a man, undisputed.

    bailey,

Why are you so impressed with the Eubank win?

    I've never understood it.

Eubank was at the end of his career, and he was preparing for a LHW fight. At that point, he hadn't fought at SMW for over 2 years.

Then on only 11 days notice, he had to drop to SMW, to fight a southpaw.

He had to drastically change his diet, he had little time to prepare, and he also had to have injections in his knees.

Then the following year he fought his final two bouts at CW.

So all things considered, it can't be classed as a great win for Joe.

    bailey,

All of the above, equals you manipulating things to show Joe in a good light.

    You are deluded!

He was preparing to fight at 175, and had to change his diet and training on 11 days notice. He hadn't fought at SMW for two years, and he'd been beaten by Collins who was nothing special.

It's a joke that you hype this win, and dismiss Ward's win against Froch.

He was obviously struggling to make SMW, and he was past his best, having lost to Collins.

WTF has that got to do with anything?

From what I'd read, he'd had great camps against Hopkins and Roy, because he ate better and didn't have to lose as much weight. He felt a lot stronger.

It was on the link that I posted when we discussed this last year. His wife put him on a special fruit diet for ten days.

Ha! So you're not even willing to take into account that Eubank's knees had gone?

    You're so biased.

If someone had fought Roy on 11 days notice, at a weight they hadn't fought at for two years, which was a loss, and had bad knees, what would you be saying?

Yes, he was given the opportunity, but he obviously wasn't comfortable fighting at SMW at that stage of his career.

Once again, the FACTS are as follows:

He was at the end of a long, hard career.

He was preparing to fight Mark Prince at LHW.

He had to drastically change his diet, and prepare for a southpaw at SMW.

He hadn't fought at SMW for two years.

In his last fight at SMW, he'd lost to Steve Collins, who wasn't anything special.

He had to have injections in his bad knees.

    He retired the following year.

    Those are the FACTS!

How could it have been a great win for Joe??

With regards to Zod, he's as biased as you are, and he's run over nothing.

I'm still awaiting for his reply.

    And??

No. Ward and RJJ are superior. He's in the debate though for longevity and title defenses.
