I'm sure Calzag was thrown some ridiculous numbers that he could have taken at the time but somewhere deep down he knew that his best chance would lie ahead. Take nothing away from the guy since he took care of who he was matched with.
Ahh yes! And we all know nullifying speed isan impossible feat! Especially against a legend in his own mind like Joe Calslappy. :smoke
He had Kessler hurt a few times. B-Hop may be able to time him but he is too inactive. Joe would win on workrate alone There is no way B-Hop floors Calzaghe, Joe's chin impressed me against Kessler
Joe's chin impressed me as well, but that does not mean Hopkins cannot floor him. That Joe is often off-balance and out of position leads me to believe he will be very susceptible to being knocked down against a slick counterpuncher like Hopkins. And please--this entire line of argument that Calzaghe's workrate is too much for Hopkins is completely bunk! Hopkins is the master at reducing an opponent's workrate via his defensive mastery. :smoke
And I happen to think otherwise, but either way, I look forward to this fight happening! :good Many say it would be a boring bout, and in the eye of the casual fan, I've no doubt this will prove true. However, for the die hard boxing aficionado, I think it will be a tactical bout of subtle genius!
It's gotta happen JOe needs this fight for his resume. Now that Joe has a following in the states it would also be a big payday for both fighters as well.
