Is Calzaghe the only retired and undefeated world champion without controversial decisions?

Mayweather had controversial decisions, many thought he didn't win the first Maidana fight, hence the rematch.

Ward has controversial victories against Kovalev. Personally I don't care about the second one because Kovalev used dirty tactics himself to win fights, even in the Ward duology. I thought Kovalev won the first fight on first viewing, and that Ward did well to keep it competitive after he was dropped.

Fury has a controversial decision in the first McDermott fight, hence the rematch.

Looks to me that Usyk is no.1 P4P and Crawford is no. 2 P4P. They earned every one of there victories, no BS decisions, they earned them.

People say a fighter's record is what is remembered in the history books. Complete BS, we still remember robberies from 50+ years ago when social media and the internet didn't exist.

For the record, it's not a knock on the fighters since they do their cheating in other ways.

...ok maybe Marciano is that guy!

Whilst I think he won both, many argue that Zags lost to Hopkins and Robin Reid

Reid was controversial but that was an absolutely injury-ravaged Super Joe who had only sparred 14 rounds in two years due to being ravaged with numerous different injuries and who badly damaged his hand in the 4th round IIRC. I had him pulling it out though.

I think nearly every fighter with 40+ fights had controversial decisions, Hopkins and Reid fights were close

You're right, I must be getting Marciano confused with someone else.

Marciano's first win over Roland LaStarza and his win over Ted Lowry were considered to be controversial decisions

It's very normal to be in close tough fights when you're taking serious risks. It's also not the first time it happens to any great fighter that dared to take risks.

I take it the OP has not heard of Edwin Valero ! As mentioned Robin Reid should have beat Joe but was robbed just like he was against Ottke, also Hopkins should have got the nod over Joe but his “ white boy “ comments put paid to that !

Maybe GGG would have joined the club of undefeated-retirees, if there were no controversial refereeing decisions.
On the other hand, some controversial decisions were in favor of GGG.

His decision to never fight outside of the UK because he was too scared of planes is pretty controversial

Like many have already said. Reid and Hopkins pushed him to the brink. Fights that could have gone the other way honestly. So the question has been bunked.

Have Gloves Won't Travel (EVER) Loaded Dice Rolling Dre 100% lost to Kovalev on his own soil with a full set of home officials (you know how they roll over there, even for world title fights and undisputed), and then after they predictably robbed Kovalev of all his belts, like they always doing to the foreigner over there, Dre categorically refused to allow Kovalev to have even one neutral judge for the rematch and again had a full set of home officials which is not only a very common theme for him but over there in general, even, as explained, for world title fights between a home boy and a foreigner
