    I agree.

    His resume doesn't scream legend, although his skillset is high enough that he could/can/or should have been.

    I think Calzaghe skills are at ATG status, though his resume is far from it, most of your ATG fighters that start at lighter weights, move up and challenge themselves to see if they can unify or win a title in another division, it wasnt until just recently did Calzaghe unify the belts at SM, holding a WBO belt for 9 years fighting C class fighters, will never get a ATG nomination in my book, you cant erase that long stretch of time where he was content fighting to hometown crowds the majority of the time, and padding his record until he stepped up the competition in march of 06, against Lacy.

    Toney, Hopkins, Jones, are multi division champs, who fought and beat some of the best out there, and were'nt afraid to take a challenge, Calzaghe will be remembered as a good fighter, with the talent to be great.

    ok you can laugh at me if you want or do whatever,i dont really care because i see similarities;

    rocky marciano held a long undefeated record of 49fights with fighting not great fighters and past it greats such as louis,walcott,charles.marciano,although not seen as a top5 heavyweight,he is still seen as a legend and an ATG,if calzaghe can go on to defeat hopkins (a past it legend,this is the eye's of you guys not me,i see his resume as slightly better than calzaghe),beat pavlik (a huge punching champion in his prime) and rjj (the best of our generation) would calzaghe not be a show in for legendary status?

    it would leave him 47-0,having defeated some of the legends of the sport,some current peaked champions and some upcoming prospects,yes he has fought bums,but who hasn't?

    one more thing ... if woods beats tarver well will this adversely affect hopkins legacy?

    Calzaghe should be remembered now as great, just not an all time great. If he beats Hopkins in impressive fashion, I think it's fair to call him an all time great. Wins over Dawson, Pavlik, and Woods, in addition to Hopkins, would certainly make him an all time great.

    Yes, I have mentioned in a earlier post, if Calzaghe beats Hopkins, Pavlik, and Dawson I will upgrade his status, if he retires after beating Hopkins, I refuse to make him a ATG, 9 years cant be erased, but he does have time to make up some ground and put some names on his lack luster resume.

    If he does Hopkins-Woods-Pavlik-Dawson in whatever order, what current resume would be better than that?

    Certain not Joy Boy's.:yep

    Jones won belts in 4 different weight divisions, and beat 2 prime ATG's in Hopkins and Toney, as well as beating other top guys like Tarver, Woods, Griffin, and Hill. RJJ is a legend, Calzaghe is only a legend in very few peoples minds.

    According to Joe himself, he's got one more fight after Hops. This kinda sucks for his fans as Hops at 43 + any of the above fighters (Dawson OR Woods OR Pavlik) will simply not make his resume greater than "Joy Boy"... Or a legend, as per my rating of "legend", at least.
