Is Canelo a disgrace to the middleweight title?

if cotto still held that belt....and danny Jacobs was the mandatory challenger that kept taking step aside money....and danny Jacobs fans whined about cotto taking cw defenses and asking Jacobs for a cw if he wanted a fight

they be like "hey man cotto is the shot caller here....hes a big draw and a hall of fame fighter....cotto makes a lot of money...so danny Jacobs better get to 155 if he wants that strap"

It doesn't matter if Canelo fights Golovkin, Jacobs our your neighbour he holds a belt @ 160 it doesn't matter if Canelo prefers to weight 155 in the fight but his opponent should be allowed to weight a max of 160

Here’s the problem with that : Khan thought having the fight at 160 would give Canelo too much of a size advantage, Khan said himself in an interview that he wouldn’t fight Canelo at 160. Khan would only take the fight if it were at 155.

So you’re saying that Canelo’s opponent should be allowed to weigh a max of 160, but what you are not realizing is that Canelo’s opponent (Khan) wouldn’t agree to 160, only 155.

 

Yes and no. the original disgrace is Cotto, Alvarez just jumped in the opportunity to have a huge fight with Cotto.

But he should now vacate, if he isn't fighting THE champ this year.

 

Personally speaking,after watching boxing for the best part of 40 years,i want to see divisions being adhered to,and im sick of CW where belts are involved.
If people want to dictate CWs,then they have no right to expect it to count towards a belt if they havent the ***** to go to the limit.
And its nothing to do with GGG holding all the belts for me,its upholding the integrity of the sport which is in short supply imo.

Ironically enough in spite of the weigh non sense, Canelo is really the most legit Champ at Middle.

Beating Cotto was/is better than what Saunders did for his WBO Title, and Golovkin never even won the Real WBA Title, amd beat one of the biggest paper champs in recent time for the IBF.

 

Ginger is so protected.

 

How was beating Cotto @ 155 was a more legit middleweight win than beating Andy Lee and Chris Eubank @ 160? And how exactly the former WBA champ choosing to drop his title rather than facing him makes Golovkin a less legit champ? And finally, what makes Lemieux who won his title by soundly beating a legitimate top10 middleweight one of the bigger champs when we have titlists who reign without ever fighting anyone ranked in top10-15 in their division?

 

Eubank wasn't for a title and is still really a prospect, Lee was a decent win but Lee couldn't even sniff a title in the Martinez/Chavez era dude came up because MW sucks even more now.

Im not interested in the ducking stuff they try to protray when its been seen over and over that GGG will either side step or make excuses why big fights can't happen, a fighter can't duck you if you agree to not fight.

As for Lemeiux he has never fought or beat an elite fighter ever, that fact y'all consider him a top MW should speak to how cr@ppy the division is. N'Dam wasn't no Champ am was like a fight removed from being dropped 6 times by Quillin.

You can make all the excuses or reasons for why but Cotto is the only one who actual beat a Champ for a Title and Holding wins over Marvella/Geale as well as making some think he was competitive vs Canelo blows out anything those guys have done in their career.

 

I don't like what he's doing with his new 155 weight-class, but let's see what happens when he and Oscar negotiate.

 

I don't understand why Canelo is such a big star in the first place.

Good boxer but he got so many gift decisions and isn't really convincing yet. I don't think he's that entertaining to watch either.

 

They are all jokes...it's just that Wrangello is the current joke. Just because it was done to him doesn't make it right for him to do it to others. 2 wrongs don't make a right.
