Both Lara & Trout legitimately beat Canelo but didn't get the decisions. I hope Khan whups his little fat ass

Boxing is subjective. Lara and Trout both fought Canelo to close fights, but they lost on the cards. Canelo’s quality punching won him the rounds, but I don’t think you’re wrong for thinking Lara or Trout won. They fought well in those fights and I think it was one of those fights that could go either way.

I am a fan of both Khan and Canelo so I’m just looking forward to a good fight. Whoever wins, as long as it’s a good fight I’m happy. Obviously you don’t like Canelo, you seem very upset at him, and I don’t understand why. It’s kind of scary to be honest. Canelo is the biggest star in boxing right now and he’s bringing us some of the biggest fights out there. I don’t know how anyone can be mad at Canelo. He’s had a great career thus far and he’s trying to give the fans the biggest fights out there.

And then what, another voluntary? Another catchweight fight against some welterweight? Or a rematch perhaps? Yeah, I'd rather Canelo just won, went on to fight GGG or just vacates and then we have a normal situation again in the division rather than this absolute comedy it has become.

He has had a great career, is an exciting fighter and will probably go far. Unfortunately this warrior image smashes to pieces when we see him playing painfully obvious weight games with Golovkin in an attempt to gain an advantage over the older fighter. History will not look kindly upon him.

He’s not playing “weight games” with Golovkin. He’s in camp training for Khan. The catchweight stuff has gotten ridiculous, and I don’t like the idea of GGG having to struggle to make 155, but at the same time Floyd did the same thing to Canelo back in 2013 and Floyd’s feet weren’t held to the fire on that.

You are so quick and ready to criticize Canelo for (possibly) doing something like that, something that he hasn’t tried to do to anyone yet, but it was perfectly fine for Floyd to do that same thing to him? (because he was a younger fighter, not an older fighter?) Weight draining somebody is bad whether he’s younger than you or older and you. Just because Canelo was younger than Floyd, and GGG is older than Canelo, doesn’t make trying to weight drain somebody any better.

Frankly given all this paranoia over weight draining, I doubt Golvokin would ever agree to 155 vs Canelo. And I’m not sure if Canelo would even insist on that. I think Canelo understands that he is holding the 160 belt, and that he shouldn’t try to take a short cut to becoming unified MW champ.

My view is I have no problem with Canelo defending that title at 155 as long as he’s fighting someone from welter / LMW coming up where there is no weight draining involved. But if he fights a True MW like GGG I do think it should be at 160. (I didn’t like how unhealthy Geale was when he fought Cotto, that was terrible)

I’m sure you are smart enough to understand the difference between fighting Khan at 155 (a weight that benefits Khan) vs fighting GGG at 155 (a weight that benefits Canelo). At the same time, I am troubled by the double standards involved here, how Floyd gets a pass on weight draining Canelo (because Canelo was younger?) as if that makes it okay? It’s not okay to drain a fighter at a catchweight, young or old.

    Yes of course he is.

He refused to face Golovkin at the MW limit.

He's the champion of the division but he's a joke.

I'm curious how Canelo would do against a standard fare middleweight fighter, let alone a monster middleweight like GGG. I suspect he could struggle against guys like Lemieux, Jacobs, Saunders or even Geale. If he faced any of them, it could give a good gauge where Canelo fits in the middleweight pecking order.
