Well, that isn't the only time he was made to look slow. Old Mosley at times did as well.

Of course a pure boxer on the back foot will give him more problems than any other style. Mayweather and Lara are two of the very best pure boxers in the game right now. He fought both. And Trout is a good boxer as well, even if nowhere near the capabilities of the other two. He beat two of the three and while the Lara fight was debatable and controversial, the Trout fight wasn't. Canelo won close but clear.

hes coming along just fine. a better trainer would speed up the process... but the kid is loyal. he looks sharper and more seasoned each time out and as long as he doesnt stagnate in his development, he should peak in about 3 years.
by 2017 he will be fighting at middle, and if he can carry the extra lbs well, canelo vs ggg could turn into a classic.

I don't like the term pure boxers for the two guys you named, a pure boxer to me Is one that engages in every aspect of a fight , not the aspects that gaurentee as little fighting as possible.

I think canelo could do with hooking up with Robert Garcia , he needs to learn how to become a pressure fighter if he needs to

People that stand in front of canelo are destroyed. If you have good foot work and a good jab he can be beaten. Not really sure how dimensions apply since canelo is highly skilled he just lacks the speed to match up well with certain boxing types.

Canelo has always sat back and tried to box. The one and only positive out of the Lara fight Atleast he showed the ability to adjust. He got behind early and knew he had to change it up even though he didn't have any more success pressing then the did boxing.

Agreed. And it should be pointed out that Canelo did win 2/3 of the fights mentioned. Mayweather was just a bridge too far.

I think Canelo needs to learn to cut off the ring and improve his jab.
