    saw this post on another forum that argued Canelo was better and that Usyk is only better at workrate

    "
    work rate, yes. 100%. everything else, absolutely not. not even close really. usyk’s head movement might look cooler because he does it so often but it’s not particularly effective, especially when his opponents throw 4 or 5 punch combinations. canelo’s defense is sharp as a razor no matter what you throw at him.

    usyk doesn’t really cut the ring off particularly well on the front foot and has struggled to get away from bigger fighters on the back foot. canelo has only had this problem once against mayweather who might have the best footwork of all time. “angles” are largely a misrepresented fad that stems from the “(insert soviet bloc amateur standout) is in the matrix!!!!1” youtube era that is the reason behind usyk’s rise to stardom. there have been plenty of amazing anglers in the sport who haven’t done **** and fighters who can’t create angles who have been undisputed champions.

    i’d argue the angles canelo creates with his hooks as fighters circle off the ropes are more effective than usyk slipping a jab, hopping, and landing a clean left to the chest"

    Defense = Canelo
    Punch traps = Canelo
    Punch variety = Canelo
    Counterpunching = Canelo
    Timing = Canelo
    Footwork = Usyk

    Punch power and chin aren't technical attributes but Canelo is better in these attributes too.

    Setting aside that glaringly fanboi post...

    No, I don't think Canelo is technically better.

    P4P he hits harder, but does Canelo have the technical ability to box to a decision against a man 20lbs heavier than him?
    I think Canelo's insistence on rehydration clauses suggests he's not confident enough to find out.

    Look, these are two of the best P4P fighters we have right now in an all-round sense, but the degree to which that poster has fanfic'd their assessment to keep their dogmatic belief about their hero intact is cringey as **** (and it always is regardless of who does it and who their particular hero is).

    The difference between Usyk and Canelo is that if Usyk drops in weight his technique is not affected if Canelo instead gains weight his technique deflates.

    Canelo and his technique are limited imo. He could never get HW Champion like USyK or Roy Jones.

    What? Usyk never had " downloaded " anything this at first.
    Ohh, youtube and no one had used rolling with punches, dynamic guards, chance of body angles and attack angles before Usyk and you represent this as some kind of just hype train job? Really?

    Maybe you will get what means in boxing angles if you will watch fights like Subriel Matias vs Dadashev and Nigel Benn vs Gerald : about rollong with punches and angles.
    I might point a lot with other expamples.
    For example even Dempsey. Yeah, he too had used angles change.
