Not yet, he can still raise some cows in Mexico , feed them Clenbuterol and use those meat to feed Mexican boxers like him, earn money until VADA busts them. Then the cycle goes around again...
Nope. Even if he gets suspended for two years he will be fine. GBP I worry about since he is their only earner for the most part and if he sits out for that long it could **** things up for them.
Lesson learned for GBP, Promote clean fighters / keep your fighters clean at all times or face this same consequences...
No not a chance. We may all be bubbling about it and think Canelo should dissapear down some diry hole for ever but GBP are already talking about him fighting in Summer. The masses, i keep talking about the masses, they dont care about all this, alot of them dont even know about it, they dont follow this sport day by day they just know the big names and when a fight is about to happen they pay for it. As long as Canelo brings good money to a fight he will still attract opposition.
No His name will always be tainted amongst hardcore fans, but Canelo fans and a lot of his countrymen are playing it like they believe he's innocent. It probably means he would become the villain from now on (more as he already was) among boxing fans. Which means massive paydays because people would want to see him lose (KTFO) like with Floydweather before him. And just look at some of these now retired names out of boxing history. Roy Jones Jr James Toney Evander Holyfield Shane Mosley Fernando Vargas Floyd Mayweather Tyson Fury (comeback this year?) What do these guys have in common, and how did it influence their legacies?
Sure Canelo can / will fight again but the real question will be - will he ever get that high PPV numbers again? Plus we will hear a lot of booing during his ring introduction.
He's teetering on the precipice, but not yet, that'll fully come to pass when he returns and loses to Saunders, Jacobs, Golovkin and Derevyanchenko.
Not even close, imo. This chapter will pass, he will rematch G, likely win that, have a gimme fight, then by his next big fight this will be in the past.... I dont think the boxing community cares as much about PEDS as they proclaim they do.
In any other sport a failed test would destroy your career. Even if you were allowed to compete again you'd be hounded publicly for the failed tests. Look at Gatlin no matter what he achieves he'll always be viewed by many as a cheat and he has never got the recognition other top US sprinters have because of it and rightly so. But in boxing fans are too hardcore, maybe because it's such a niche sport. Tyson can bite someones ear off, Stevenson can be a total scumbag but still draw crowds. Canelo could get injected with Clen on live prime TV in Mexico and as long as he keeps winning his fans will keep paying for his fights. The issue of doping in boxing has become a real issue for me, especially in the US where the punishment is usually nothing or a 6 month ban which is a joke. While the WBC's and WBA moved towards more stringent testing this Canelo debacle has once again highlighted how corrupt these sanctioning bodies are when the might dollar is on the line. The move towards VADA testing is nothing more than a PR job for these sanctioning bodies as long as they get paid these sanctioning bodies don't care if you dope or not.
Hope he's not finished, I was looking forward to seeing his ring walk for GGG II, entering the arena saddled up on the back of some prime Mexican beef cattle...
