Rhodes fight too. Meant the Cintron fight, always get the two mixed up.

you're not on borrowed time when you're twenty two years old, strong, and your handlers coddle you the way they do. you've got all the time in the world in that case. you're on borrowed time if you fit the same description, accept that your handlers constantly throw you into the lion's den like fernando vargas.

the impression that I got watching the fight was that Canelo was taking his time and picking his spots, I didn't see Gomez "giving him fits" at all, when the time came Canelo almost took his head off wit hthe first meaningful shot he threw...sure, premature stoppage, but it seemed to me that Canelo was ready to turn up the heat and Gomez was already all over the place

the impression i got was that it took a 147 pound cotto one less round to do exactly what canelo did...at 154.

Trout vs Alvarez is PPV worthy on its own.

**** Mayweather and Alexander can be the undercard with that shitty ass match up.

Yeah but that prediction makes less sense. Remember that Rhodes was facing a Canelo that most didn't know much about. A Canelo that got tagged by Hatton. A Canelo that was only 21 with no experience, who never fought anyone credible.

They were in for a surprise.

The fact that he won't face a real 154lb fighter unless he's guaranteed a fight with Floyd bothers me... But he's very young and even after a couple losses can go on to do big things.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious that Canelo took that fight like a training match. He invited Gomez to hit him. Canelo was testing his chin. He even decided to try and imitate FLoyd. I think it's clear that when you do this in a match like that, you're not taking your opponent serious. When he decided to stop playing, he almost decapitated Gomez. Plus, isn't getting hit part of game?? Who cares if Canelo gets tagged here and there. It's BOXING! It comes with the territory. The question is, who won the fight???

    Great post.

Many people say Canelo had been spoon fed his whole Career, my ass, dude had fought great competition for his age, and GBP didn' pick him up till he was 20 and brought him state side, I been following him since before he was over here in the USA where i had to watch spanish boxing to get a glimpse of him, he's been wowing his home town and area with great performances and he built his name on his OWN! GBP is only making him bigger since picking him up... but for his age regardless of his BS belt the competition has been great.

    :thumbsup

Canelo is a true champ and already is a lock for HOF and a guaranteed ATG with his current resume.

I mean Canelo defeated a great great fighter and the very dangerous Matthew Hatton and Canelo whoop him for the WBC World Championship. It don't get better than that. Canelo is def a sure in for the HOF.

Canelo is a student of the game, and has many times says in his amateur careers he loved fighting that way as Mayweather with the shoulder roll. and says he Idolizes Mayweather too ibe heard him say in other interviews, haha.
