Pacquiao absolutely annihilated a Cotto that was in his prime and won by TKO.

While I do think Canelo beat Cotto it was closer than what the judges scorecards said IMO. He didn't beat down Cotto like I thought he would. Canelo is slow and has no footwork. He and Provodnokov would be a good fight.

No, canelo'z face was spotless lol.If you look at pac after the cotto fight he was banged up.Canelo did it with ease.I don't care if pac stopped cotto. The game is hit and not get hit and Pac got clocked so many times he had bandaged head.

Canelo is probably the most subjective fighter in recent memory, either you felt he beat Trout,Lara & Cotto and rate him high for it or you felt he lost and is overrated its almost no inbetween.

Check out the threads today. Yeah there's a few fans who are really high on Canelo, but they are in the decided minority. Most recognise him as a very solid, but not exceptional fighter.

Canelo's a very good fighter. If he continues to win like this, he's going to have a HOF career by the time he's done, but in terms of his H2H ability, it's all meh.
    Canelo's power is overrated.

He already has a decent resume, his only loss is to a Top 50 ATG.

Canelo has a good record...on paper. In reality, he s****es by his opposition. I had him losing a wide ud to Mayweather, beat traut by 1 point due to the KD, beating Cotto by 2 points and losing to Lara by 1 point. This is not the kind of record a top p4p guy should have. Mayweather was hated for running but his wins were crystal clear, with one exception of Castillo 1.

That's my assessment too. I think he is good. Not great. Trying to find a comparison. Slightly better than Vargas I feel.

Naw, I don't think Camelo's overrated !!! Camelo is still young and learning his craft.

That said, GGG is in a whole different league, a "once in a generation" middleweight.

That explains why O$CAR is ducking & dodging, scheming & plotting, doing everything he can to delay a Camelo/GGG fight.

    ;)

Perhaps just a bit. I just don't get the vibe that I'm seeing something special like I did with a young Barrera or Marquez ...even Fernando Vargas . He does have good hand speed, combos , and upper body movement . I honestly thought he was gonna blow the doors off Cotto with his youth and size advantage .

Canelo is a massive weight cutter. A rehydration limit would turn him into a disciplined Chavez Jr - which is still pretty good but nowhere near the P4P material he is currently rated to be.

the kid is good, and he keeps proving it, and the same people keep saying how the next guy is gonna expose all his suspected flaws... and then the next guy.
i dont think he beats ggg at 160, but he wont get runned over. i keep seeing improvements in his game every time out so i dont believe he has hit his ceiling yet, but the difference in size, although not great, is significant when you are competing at the highest levels. ggg is the only one i see beating him, mainly because he can match him tool for tool but in a bigger package.

I don't think he'll be rated as high once he starts fighting real middleweights at middleweight limit.

Depends on whom is doing the rating.

He doesn't suck, and has improved over the last couple of years. As far as him being some great fighter or future great, he has a long way to go.

As of now, he's a good, perhaps very good fighter. I'd be surprised if he was beyond the "very good" level.
