Will GBP risk putting him in with Kirkland now?

I don't really care whether he's ready or not. Put them in a ring together. Bombs away! :bbb

Canelo's patience may be his undoing against Kirkland, but Canelo has really good power and is a good counter-puncher and could catch and drop James coming in wreckless, that fight could go either way but I favor Jk...

It seems weird to ask if the champion is ready for the challenger. Such is boxing.

Canelo is better than Kirkland in most cylinders... but Kirkland is insane... the same way Cotto fell under Margarito's plaster pressure could be Canelo's fate in this one.. even when he is the better fighter....

but that being said, change the thread title to "Is Canelo ready for Mayweather?"

He has a puncher's chance the first couple of rounds before Kirkland gets warmed up. That's it though I think Kirkland KO's him. Someone is getting KO'd that's for sure

I could see Canelo KO'in Kirkland early and devastatingly, but I could also see Kirkland beating him down and KO'ing him late badly if he survives a early shot.

Canelo stops Kirkland in one round.

Mark my words. Kirkland is so open when he attacks and Canelo is a natural counter puncher with power. This does not end well for Kirkland.

Yea because Canelo is known for being stupid when he hurts someone and burning himself out by throwing 100 unnecessary punches.

In this fight Kirkland either backs off and loses a UD or if he pressed he gets stopped brutally.
