A better question is whether Kirkland's glass jaw would stand up to Alvarez's punches! The likelihood is that Kirkland would taste canvas early and often, and unlike Angulo, Alvarez will not let this glass jawed fraud off the hook.
Canelo's showings against Gomez, Cotto (the lesser), Hatton (the lesser), and that other Brit bum, leads me to believe that if you can ride the wave early, you can be in the fight. Canelo has a very pourous defense, and a shot from Kirkland can signal the end for him, just as a shot from him could signal the end for Kirkland.
Saw the thread. Don't mean to sidetrack, but got word from Robert Guererro that he's willing ta go up in weight ta face Kirkland.
Sounds like a good fight to me. Hope it happens. Though I won't be mad if Canelo skips it for Money May.
Wow, never saw that one coming. I thought he'd eventually square off with Rios or Marquez but it appears that Rios will eventually fight Gamboa and JuanMa has a Pacman rematch in his sights.
That's insane. He's an excellent boxer but Kirkland would kill him. He hasn't even fought at light welter.
This right here. I'm not sold on Canelo just yet. IMHO, Angulo would give Canelo more than he wants. One thing for sure though, Canelo looks like a VERY big junior middle. And being that he's only 21, he's probably not done adding weight. I don't think he'll be a junior middleweight for very long. But if Kirkland could withstand his punches, he wears Canelo down and stops him.
