Benavidez is better than anyone Calzaghe fought at super middle. Canelo is already undisputed. You guys lie about Calzaghe like crazy.

Hell no. Canelo is a very good fighter but I think he’s a little overrated. He’s missing more career defining wins.

Benavidez may well be a fantastic talent - but he hasn't beaten anyone of note yet, and that is mostly his own fault for losing the title on the scales a few years back; if he had kept that with more discipline then Canelo would have had to go through him for undisputed.

On the eye-test Benavidez looks like he could be up there with the Froch's or Kesslers, but he hasn't really mixed it at high enough level to know for sure he can swim in the deep waters at elite level.

Fantastic tear-up, not seen it in a good few years, more action in the 1st round that Canelo GGG had in all 12!

You are crazy. Calzaghe is a horrible match up for Gasnelo.

How do we know this though?

He may be. But as of yet, he’s still unproven.

    Who’s he fought?

Look at what happened with Lucian Bute.

What do you mean “You guys…”?

Again, I’m one of Joe’s biggest critics.

    Exactly.

Look at the reputation that Lucian Bute had before he fought Carl Froch.

Some of these votes are clearly just jokes.

When did I say he did? Froch & Kessler are generally (and rightly IMO) regarded as a level just below Ward & Calzaghe. My point is Benavidez might be the real deal but he hasn't earned his stripes yet - Froch & Kessler did.

he is & he would clown Canelo for possibly the entire fight - however - I could also see a scenario wear CalSlappy gets broken down late 11 or 12th by canelo - Caleb plant style.

    possible just not likely.

His accomplishments at 168 alone (not entire resume) pale in comparison to Calzaghe and Ottke. They fought the best contenders jn the division. Ottke fought each one often multiple times.

Who did Calzaghe beat that's on par with Benavidez at super middleweight?

This but the opposite. Canelo cleaned the division out in 1 year. Only guy he needs to beat is Benavidez and then he's clearly ahead of Calzaghe at SMW
