Sal Sanchez against little red was around twenty and destroyed a puncher on a completely different level than Rhodes. I'm sure that there are other examples of boxing prodigies

Iron Mike. Cassius Clay. Then Alvarez. I'm sure I'm leaving out 20 or 30 guys but Alvarez is keeping good company.

Very good one. However not one i watched in real time. Thats one of the legends before my time.

Also there have been hundreds if no thousands of prospects who were destroying people at 20. What i mean by this thread is technical skills along with the coolness and savvy inside the ring.

How about someone within the last 15 years that displayed the skills and maturity inside the ring at 20??

Alvarez is good. He just needs to sharpen the defense up, but offensively he is pretty much complete.

I think his D is good for a Mexican fighter. But yes it is not great.
He really didnt get hit with much against Rhodes and thats because he respected his power. In the Hatton fight he didnt at all so he was not worrying about defense. I didnt think it was a good measuring stick for his defense.

I do want to see him get hit more by these bigger guys to see his reaction to them. The Cotto fight did put question marks on his chin but like i have said before that was a perfect shot with perfect placement and he survived it.

Floyd and Oscar probably... haven't watch their first fights though. Floyd was 21 when he beat Hernandez

On the contrary. I think Cotto is the name guy at 154 he has a better chance of beating. Its a styles thing. I like to follow young prospects alot and I dont know if im not watching the channels you are but i can not recall anyone at 20 with the composure and skills that Alvarez possess. Other than like people have said. PBF and DLH.
As far as prospects you usually get impressive speed and/or power and/or chin.

Mayweather, Benitez, Vargas, Adrien the Problem Boner is 21 and looks more complete and destroyed a better opponent than Rhodes.

Well their were quite a few of 20 yr olds that had won titles who were just as talented. But if you going by guys who won titles at 20 then Canelo is top 5 best 20 yr of all time.
