Is it? I never saw Cotto hurt last night like I've seen him hurt against the likes of Pacquiao, Margarito, and even Mayweather. Mayweather hurt him more obviously with that uppercut late in the fight than I ever saw Canelo do. He hit Cotto cleanly plenty of times as well, but it never seemed Cotto was hurt, not even stunned.

I'm thinking it may be because of the CW and his power was sapped, but maybe his power is just overrated? Thoughts?

Here is what to draw from Canelo's power. Natural welterweight's Matthew Hatton and Lovemore N'dou (both iron chinned warriors) went on record and said the Brook hits harder at Welterweight than Canelo does at Jr Middleweight.

It's quite obvious to from the fights as Canelo never eally had them hurt and Brook had both nearly out of there and dropped Hatton.

Of course Canelo's power is over rated. He couldn't KO chinny Angulo, although he was hitting him with everything and the kitchen sink. He couldn't stagger old ass Shane Mosely. He couldn't KO 140 pound Lovemore N'dou. He hit Cotto with some solid **** last night, and never once made Cotto do the stanky leg. Cotto will do the stanky leg when hit with good shots. Canelo KO'd Kirkland, but that doesn't mean anything. Feather fisted Ishida, was dropping Kirkland with jabs. My point. The power of Saul Alvarez is more than a bit over rated.

I've been saying since I joined the site Canelo's power was overrated. No one listened, as usual... but even I thought he'd have enough pop to take out Cotto who's always been chinny, and I think he could have, but the fear of gassing kept him from going all out on the couple of occasions when he stunned Miguel slightly. His power is good enough to keep his opponents from overcommitting and trying to walk through him, but not quite enough for him to be categorized as a KO artist.

Who ever said Canelo was a big puncher anyway? I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone claim he's a knock out artist or a big puncher? He brutally KO'd Kirkland? So what? Malignaggi could do that, Kirkland is just a typical glass chinned Yank

    He was weight drained.

When he fights at 160 v GGG you will see his true power..

Not being able to KO the fighters I mentioned, while outweighing them by 15-20 pounds should have squashed any notion, Canelo is a power puncher.
