Froch is the place holder the WBC got stuck with when Taylor wasn't interested in their belt.

If you want to be a champion you have to find a way to win. Back in 1964 nearly everybody believed that Sonny Liston would beat the crap out of Muhammad Ali. As it turns out he had a serious problem hitting him. there is no doubt in my mind that Joe Calzaghe, Mikkel Kessler or Arthur Abraham could out box Carl Froch. It is not a big enough fight for Calzaghe, but for Kessler or Abraham it represents a title which is important at this stage of their careers.

Yes just like the rest of the title holders there, including Mikkel

Considering he won a vacant tile against an opponent not ranked in the top10.

One could make a valid argument that he is a paper champion.

I think he might aswelll go 4 bute 2 undefeated world champs who havent had a load of fights against jouneymen b4 goin 4 a world title. If froch beats bute and becomes wbc and ibf champ surely taylor would then fight froch.coz if talylor beat froch there would be a massive fight with kessler where 1 would come out undisputed sm champ.

Possibly he is a paper champ. But he deserves the belt,he has been ducked by a lot of fighters Inkin and Mundine for a stsrt so he did deserve a shot at a title.
Would he beat Kessler? No and Mikkel knows he can take that fight and make some cash in the uk.If all the talk about Kessler v Johnson,Abraham,Larsen and Taylor falls through which i think it will expect to see Mikkel in the uk around August for Froch.

Actually, I would prefer Kessler to take it and make JT earn it. I still think MK has to be considered #1 because of his fight with JC.
