How does beating Abraham who lost every round to Andre Dirrell in his prior fight make you P4P material when you're coming off 2 loses like Froch?
Froch is so good that Dirrell would rather compete in a running away competition. Seriously Froch-Dirrell was a shite fight that could have gone either way & Kessler-Froch was a great fight that could have gone either way. Had the first been in Michigan and the second in Nottingham Froch would have gone 1-1 the other way around.
Not mine, but I don't think it's crazy if he's in someone else's. Like someone said, once you get past the first few fighters it gets so much more subjective.
If those sorts of wins don't count you could re-write history. V.Klitschko beat Lewis Golota beat Bowe x 2
Dirrell fought a horribly negative fight, but the fact remains Froch didn't really land and punches where as Dirrell landed plenty on Froch. Fights are scored on that basis. Kessler won fair and square, it wasn't a fight that could have gone either way. I wouldn't dream of putting Kessler/Dirrell in a P4P list, neither should Froch at this time, if he beats Ward then fair play hes there, he isnt yet
Regardless of what you think about the Dirrell and Kessler fights, both were close and he came out 1-1. It would be a shame if this thread became yet another about Dirrell vs. Froch. I don't think any other fighter has the record he has. Donaire was number 5 right, even though his only win was Darchinyan? The Sidorenko win is his second best, which says a lot. The Darchinyan win wasn't as good as the Abraham win for Froch and the Pascal fight eclipses the significance of Donaire beating Sidorenko. The only thing you can really hold against Froch, is the loss to Kessler. Like I said, Martinez has lost in similar fashion, beaten lesser opponents than Froch and is ranked third P4P by many. That doesn't make sense.
Wins against Pascal Taylor (away) Dirrell disputed loss against Kessler in Denmark....Anraham....I cant think of anyone outside top 5 with resume that comes close. he deserves to as at least he will travel....I mean Kessler in Denmark is as hard as Calzaghe Wales
Well the majority of boxing fans scored the fight to Dirrell, so it isn't just what I thought its what the majority thought. Fans opinions are important, if they weren't we'd take Lennox-Holyfield and Whitaker-Chavez draws at face value, every fan calls Whitaker/Lewis the winner because that is what really happened that night. Martinez has not lost in similar fashion to Froch, because the majority of the fans had Martinez beating Williams and called it a robbery, only the Froch fans had him beating Kessler because it was clear cut. Not to mention Martinez brutally avenged the loss. You can't be top 10 P4P when you haven't fought a top2 opponent in your division and clearly lose to a fighter coming off a shut out loss. Only nationalistic Froch fans have him above Kessler, Ward and Bute I mean seriously Kessler was top dog at 168 got dominated by Ward who takes his position but beats Froch so should firmly place above them. If he beats them fine until then hes second tier at the weight and your only arguing otherwise because hes a British fighter, which is your MO
About 60/40 in favour of YES Froch is in ESBs P4P top ten. Thanks for voting guys, good to get a balanced picture of the fanbase, I'm surprised the Ward vote was so unanimous against Andre's credentials, the way some people on here talk about him he's the next Calzaghe!! For My money Froch is P4P# 5 or 6 but just my opinion.
top 20 but not top 10 for me. He has a wonderful chance to establish himself in the top 10 before he retires by beating Johnson and Ward.
No. And as for your other points, they make no sense. Who has Bute beat who is top 2 in the division? What about top 5? No one. Andrade was fringe top 10, I didn't realize beating him is better than victories over Abraham, Pascal, Dirrell and Taylor. Please explain how you can rank Bute ahead of Froch, I'd love to hear it.
