Now? He always has been. The facts stand that depsite inheriting a total wasteland of a division the two best men he faced beat him. One even Lacy'd him.
He's not overrated he's just a over achiever. He's not fast, not extremely slick, technically he does nothing amazing. But..? He finds a way. And is a Bad Man. He's like one of these Zombie's that you see in the movies, that are slow but relentless. He's like one of these horror movie killers, Michael Myers or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Just relentlessly but slowly moving towards you and tracking you down! You should be able to out run them and easily avoid them, but not many can. I personally think Carl Froch each day, has 10mins to himself alone! Where he just things of bad things.
All the "Warrior" talk about himself (that he does) is more annoying than anything. He isn't exactly on the front-line in some war-torn shithole is he?
Always been a bit of an arrogant ***** but a solid top 3 in his division and I could see him beating all of the guys up at 175. Kessler - Froch 2 should be a cracking fight!
If all the other top fighters did what they're s'posed to do and took on the best challenges as often as they could Froch would be rated just about right IMO. As it stands he's given credit (mostly) for taking on a punishing schedule by today's standards. He deserves respect, and as a big fan I'm glad to see him get it. As a historian I think he gets too much credit in that respect, as I say because of the era he's fought in he looks a cut above most.
I don't think he's overrated, he's a very, very good super-middleweight, possibly the number three all time in the division, and could finish up as number 2. He's fought the best over and over and over again, and never really been "embarrased", even against Ward he was in there giving it his all, and finished the stronger.
