i gave him 2 on the night but after re-watching gave him none...subjective but we can all agree it was a very easy win for ward.

what had froch done at that time to think Calzaghe would give him the fight?

    who had he fought then?

even now after all these top high profile fights he's hardly known outside his hometown...

At the time Froch had done nothing of note but how good would the win look now seeing what Froch has gone on to achieve?

it was a comfortable points win.

people are overembelishing now by saying ward "schooled" froch or "beat the **** out of him"

It was comfortable points job nothing more or less.

It was a much of a schooling as you will ever see a fighter give another top fighter you plonker. He had Froch making faces like he'd never seen half the stuff Ward was doing.

to be honest very little;- im sure people would have found a way to belittle it as people on these boards regulary do about every calzaghe victory.

fight made no sense at all for calzaghe at the time. it just looked like he wanted a payday. calzaghe had bigger fish to fry at the twighlight of his career.

i have alot of respect for froch now though.

Hopkins vs Joppy, Wright vs Trinidad and Calzaghe vs Lacy are "schoolings"

Wach vs Wlad, and many, many more

    Froch/Ward was not comparable

maybe but i couldnt remember froch landing one decent shot.

kept on missing, throwing wild shots with ward picking him off.

Do you understand the logic of a schooling?

As opposed to a beating? Or opposed to utilising a specific weapon like a jab and defence like wright did?

Footwork, punch selection, ring generalship - he outclassed him

froch is possibly my fave fighter of this era.personally i think he deserves a bit of respect, boxers respect him, trainers respect him so why don't fans ? fickle ****ers
he was meant to lose to AA and bute,so said the MAJORITY of the boxing fraternity, fans, trainers, managers and boxers the world over,he beat both, very convincingly .:deal
froch ward was not a schooling, froch beat AA more convincingly over 12:deal,don't think AA won a round, froch won a few against ward, later rounds, thats not a schooling, beat him on points without a doubt,i thought it was a **** fight, ward is a messer,he is not roy jones esq by a long shot

Ward is actually an overrated fighter imo.

He is seen by many as literally one of the best ever, already.

I need to see him in there with someone who will show him a bit of speed and movement, for all we know that'll be his achillies heel and he'll look clueless, (and no, weight drained Sad Glass Jawson doesn't count)

People getting quite carried away with him based on his ability to handle slow footed, stiff bodied fighters.

He is for people with a vested interest i.e. Hearns, Sky etc There you will here about him fighting Calzaghe back in the day, beating Ward in a rematch etc

Amongst the fans, I think we know that he is an incredibly tough operator who comes very prepared to fight 12 hard rounds but he'll never beat the special fighters like Ward, Calzaghe, Jones, Toney, Hopkins etc We do expect him to go to the wire against the A-/B+ fighters like Kessler, Bute etc
