He's got some more winning to do, but with heart and will to win it's possible.

    Already an ATG at 168.

Not an ATG by any stretch but in my P4P top 5 on merit.

If he cleans out 168 and takes out some talent at 175 he has a great great shout in the ATG top 100 stakes

His last three fights were gift decision against Dirrell, a loss to a shot version of Kessler and a very impressive win over Abraham. That is the resume of a very good fighter, not an ATG. Froch is in the mix with the best at SMW, but before he fights Ward or someone who beat Ward, he clearly can't claim to be the best in the devision. An ATG is someone like Hopkins who beats someone of Trinidads status the way Froch beat Abraham and defends his title 10+ times.

Not ATG yet or even close. But the fights are there to get him close to ATG.

I don't think he will do it but if he can go and beat Ward, Johnson, Bute and perhaps Pascal at LHW then I don't see why he wouldn't at least be close.

joe calzaghe would have been a huge move towards HOF status, froch has no chance of greatness and the thread starter knew that.

even though froch would have lost a wide UD, spending half your career being obscure to the world outside britain just isn't helping his cause.

That may be so but name me 5 or 6 fighters outside of the super 6 that are career defining fights for Froch.

there isn't much around, is there?

at SMW it's still anybody's guess who's going to win and LHW is starved of obvious talent too.

truth is, froch is a limited but resilient fighter who may just drag his career, kicking and screaming, into a HOF position - and good on him if he does.

but he even contemplate that he even raises a fart for ATG status is laughable.

At least Forch has ATG balls of steel!! Even though his skills are good not great, the man never ducks anybody, he fights the best possible match up. He isn't a cherry picker like most today's "ATG"... so his record is filled with men in their prime, his own size, the best in the division. All those winning fights are hard earned!!

    definitely.
i just wish froch was more active building his career overseas earlier rather than calling out calzaghe, who had bigger fish to fry at that time.

but for what froch has achieved with the skillset that he has, you can only respect the guy.
