Thats bull****. Maybe he would have, but Froch wasn't prime when Calzaghe was fighting and simply wasn't ready for a Calzaghe fight. Maybe when we look back on their careers in the future we'll be able to say JC would have beaten Froch prime for prime, but if Froch's achievements in the ring eclipse Calzaghe's then he deserves to be ranked above him. He's going about things the right way, that's for sure

froch = 2 "away" fights + 2 at a neutral venue (1 after he threw a hissy fit & threatened to pull out of the super 6 over not being able to fight in nottingham). all hail the new road warrior.

many would argue that the decision of froch/dirrell was more of a home cooked gift than any calzaghe fight.

Calzaghe win over Hopkins eclipses anything froch has done as Hopkins has shown since he was still a live oppenent when calzaghe ought him

  4. well froch knocked out jermain taylor the man who beat bernard , and froch has faced much better opposition than calzaghe so infact it does not eclipse anything , calzaghe was great no doupt but froch is way underated

Nah! Still behind Calzaghe at the mo. Was beaten by Kessler and possibly Dirrell (I had Froch wining but I'm rather in the minority here). He'd have to win the super 6 and beat Bute to be considered on equal footing with Calzaghe and clean up the LH division to be considered superior. (If he did that I'd consider far superior in terms of achievement, would love to see it!)
Think he'll just get by Johnson who is a very live underdog and push Ward harder than he's ever been pushed but ultimately finish second best to him.
After that fights with Pascal,Degale and Nathan Cleverly could still beckon. As long as he performs well he's got plenty of options to achieve the legacy he's often going on about.

Guys, Froch is great but he's nowhere near Calzaghe's class. His competition when all's said and done will be better, but JC was an elite fighter, Froch is not.

    Nah, Calzaghe is.

He has a win over Nard, which is massive. And he also beat Kessler, who beat Froch. And from a skills point of view I'd say Calzaghe is a notch or two above Froch - he should have fought more high profile names, and even if he lost one or two his legacy would be the better for it. Also, in the purely head-2-head point of view, I'd say Calzaghe is all wrong for Froch and would beat him pretty comprehensively.

Ill say this for Froch , he's certainly got the biggest balls :deal

His style and his bad attitude doesnt win him any fans and people tend to dislike the guy because of that , he has solid boxing fundamentals but i dont see him beating Ward or Bute and i actually think Dirrell beat him , and Kessler certainly did .

Big wins over Taylor and Abraham put him right in the mix at SMW , Glen Johnson up next ................ who knows , but he has won me over , im now a Froch fan and would love to see him go on and win the S6

    :good

Edit ; and i ****in hate that loud mouthed horrible twat of a bird of his !!!!!!!!!!

I think his style and bad attitude actually DOES win him fans tbh. He has a confident swagger to him, he can stand up to pressure and this is quite endearing. I don't watch him fight and think **** me you're a ko waiting to happen. I expect him to take a flush one and then wink at his opponent and say is that all you've got, ****?
I don't know froch has got something about him that has winner stamped all over him. At the end of the day, a loss to Kessler has done his career no harm at all. If anything I think it improved him.
He is fighting consistently the top guts around him and not shirking anything. I think however he cannot be judged until he finishes his career in all honesty.
