Is it because he was beaten?

Nope, Joe(by 12 rds) and Eubank dominate him.

    Benn are 50/50 fights.

Because he didn't stack his resume with bums such as Branko Sobot, Will McIntyre, Rick Thornberry, Kabary Salem, Tocker Pudwill etc

I need a deloreon and Doc Brown to help me make Froch vs Benn, that would be epic while it lasted. But Calzaghe and Eubank would have spanked Froch

Yet his first Groves fight was only picked up by AWE?

Many long reigning champs have gimmes, but do be aware that Sobot, McIntyre and Pudwill were subs.
Calzaghe has a far greater resume than Froch. I expect if Calzaghe had of beaten Groves, he wouldnt have had the problems Froch had, and that would also have been called a gimme.
Froch fought journeyman G Johnson, Mack etc

Truth be told... If they every did fight I would have to go calzaghe on points just because he quicker and has a higher punch output

However froch is a bad ass who fights anyone and everyone! So hes had a better career... And that's what counts

Sobot wasn't a sub. Not sure on McIntyre.

"But to be fair to Joe, he’s had some terrific fights on the books that have fallen apart at the last minute.

"It’s almost like he’s snakebit and he’s had to face replacement guys who have like two, three, four weeks’ notice, and it seems like it just keeps happening and it’s apparently legitimate.

"The Charles Brewer fight (in April) held on and it was a great fight. We thought we had an Antwun Echols fight made but it fell apart. His opponent fell apart at the last moment on the Tyson card and we got Will McIntyre - that was a three-week replacement.

"We had the same thing happen in Cardiff at the castle and Joe was more than willing to fight Bernard Hopkins. He was going to take that fight, Joe wasn’t the problem."

Calzaghe has to come ahead of Froch, who in turn has to come second.

    Herol...?

    Mr. Gee ?

    Who better ?

Froch, or you momma's boyfriend ?

Branko Sobot was Calzaghe's first defence. He was nothing spectacular, but he was a hard man and he fought in the Croatian War of Independence and won a couple of National titles in Germany, so he wasn't the worst title challenger I've seen.
To be honest that uppercut Joe gave him would have KO'd most fighters. Joe predicted he would stop him in the 3rd.
