Based on what though? How does Chavez's resume compare with Carlos Ortiz's? I think Roy Jones is the best boxer to ever put on a pair of gloves, I'd be hard pressed ranking him above Harry Greb though.

Then why did you label it a ranking of japanese fighters?

Why did you add Carlos Ortiz(a Puerto Rican fighter) in the list of greatest Mexicans? I thought you were just taking the **** so I did the same.

The best guys Ortiz beat are better than the best guys Chavez beat so if you want to rank him ahead that's fine. On the other hand Chavez beat just as many top guys and he did it over more weight classes, more consistently and for longer. So I'd rate chavez ahead based on that.

    Both are ATG fighters.

But, if I had to pick, it would Chavez.

He also came over the pond and beat a very good British Lightweight in Dave Charnley.

Not sold on the first part.

Would it be outlandish to say Meldrick Taylor beats everyone Ortiz beat?

I'm not saying I would say that, but if I did would I be saying something outlandish?

I think it would be. Loi is a hell of a fighter, Joe Brown an atg lightweight, Laguna brilliant. I wouldn't favor Taylor over any of those guys.

But he's not that far below those guys.

Don't talk to me about Loi. He's pissed me off lately.

Brown is fantastic but also very inconsistent.

Laguna is a quality operator though.

It's hard when comparing ability wise. I mean is there any footage backing up the claim that those 3 are better than Taylor?
