It's not a very big deal.. catchweighst have a very long history in this sport. You just have a lot of rookie boxing fans that don't know the history behind it so they *****, moan, and complain about it every chance they get.

Cotto. You have to. Unless JMM is completely dominated and Cotto wins on some late rally after losing every round.

Cotto can beat Pac at 145.

and Floyd could go to 140 and beat Pac worse than Cotto but Cotto's will be better.

Floyd could beat Pac at 140 first, then Cotto beats Pac at 145 after and Cotto's is still a better victory. Why? Because Cotto is liked more.

Why? Because the lower the weight, the more credit to the victory even though it doesn't really matter when moving up.

Why do I get the feeling this was a "Defend Pacquiao" thread?

As I said catchweights with relevancy are ultimately fine...but we're getting close to overload at this point. Pretty soon Robert Guerrero and Humberto Soto will be having a fight at 127.25 lbs.

ok so i assume you give cotto more credit than floyd..:yep

how could you give cotto full credit when he has defeated a JWW in his own 147 lbs division and not floyd for conceding by coming down to JWW when he's actually has a belt at WW..:rofl

like marquez-floyd, and cotto-pacman are understandable catchweights.....

but the 138.blah blah blah of diaz-malginaggi is garbage to me.....no need for that....diaz is a fat lightweight, why not go up 2 pounds....

But you're arguing for the Cotto/Pacquiao fight to be at a higher weight?

For Mayweather who is fighting JMM who is coming up from 135. Yes the lower the better.

    Different from Pac-Cotto.

Since you won't tell me which one I'll do them both. Man you are dumber than Scatterbrain.

If Cotto were to beat Pac first at 145 and then Mayweather comes along and beats Pac at 140. Cotto gets more credit.

If Mayweather were to beat Pac at 140 first, and then Cotto beats Pac at 145 after. I would give more credit to Mayweather but not most people on this board wouldn't.
My reason for this answer is simple. Cotto is liked more. People on this board give Cotto loads more credit for beating Judah compared to Mayweather. Despite the fact that it took Cotto 11 rounds to finish a judah who was inactive for a year before that.
