I believe chad is the best light heavy there is. He beats Hopkins, Calzaghe, tarver, whoever. He will be future p4p number 1.

    No...no way.

Calzaghe and Hopkins are better. Some others would beat him at 175: Kessler, Bute...

Dawson is about as good as Johnson.

Top 5, yes. Best? I guess a case could be made for it, but I wouldn't rank him that high.

Yeah Chad Dawson is the best LHW in the world ... he's so fast and so skilled ... he needs to work more on his countering ... but his boxing skills are great and considering that Calzaghe backed out of a fight w/ Johnson ... further let me know that he would give Calzaghe some trouble.

Dawson will beat Tarver and the winner of this fight ...

How the hell can he be the best when he beat Johnson by ONE point at most, and could have easily lost the several times he was on ***** street

I take it you lot considered Johnson the best LHW? :nut

A win is a win ... no matter how it comes and he used that fight as a gateway to bigger and better fights.

How can he be the best when the majority of ESB fans thinks another LHW beat him in his last fight? And as Tarver said, "he's a wounded duck after tonight".

If Dawson has the balls to get in the ring with Tarver, it will be lights out for Dawson. Tarver will eventually find the mark and it will be over.

    Bull****.

A win is NOT just a win. You have to look at each fight for what it is and come to a conclusion on who you think won the fight despite what the scorecards say.

GJ beat Dawson just as JMM beat Pacman 2.

But its a never ending arguement ... because you can have 10 fans thinking that JMM won, but then have 20 pac fans coming through disputing that.

The official judges scorecards read that Dawson won ...

Just because some (not all) fans think you lost doesn't mean anything in the eyes of the fighter. He gave Johnson credit and said that he was in the fight of his life with Glenn. There's nothing more to prove ... Glenn Johnson wasn't in there in any position to negotiate a rematch. He was there to give Dawson a tough fight and thats what he did ... no one expect Johnson to win.

That's why you conduct polls and ask the die hard boxing fans who they thought won. And in both cases, the majority of fans thought JMM beat Pacman in their rematch and GJ beat Dawson.

Of course my case would be weaker if the polls clearly showed that one fighter was the winner. Then your example holds true. But in both cases, the guy who got the short end of the stick was thought to have won the fight by the majority of fans on this board. That is something you can't ignore.

What the **** are you talking about?

How the hell can't be in a position to ask for a rematch? Dawson won that fight by ONE point on my scorecard, 2 at most for any sensible fan, and the majority of fans and pundits had Johnson as the ****ing winner

HOW doesn't he deserve a rematch? Dawson is a ****ing ***** for not WANTING a rematch against a senior citizen. Johnson will be collecting his bus pass soon, and Dawson is too scared to give him a rematch. Pathetic
