I think, that UBP would love this b/c they could finally do some business with the K Bros. after having lost them in a legal battle years ago.

They could provide some undercard fights...

I would expect so. Those terms are standard for any Klitschko fight. In fact, all big name fighters stipulate rematch terms, etc., in their contracts regardless of who they are fighting.

Universum Box-Promotion is Europe's biggest promotional outlet for years...in their prime (around 2003-2007) they had about 50 fighters under contract of which 13 where/are world champions...

...it's/was far bigger than Warren and Sauerland...

yea a rematch clause is standard but this wasnt just a rematch clause it was a fight against vitali as well should he win the rematch

But in the end it was wat he wanted. More than once Haye said he wanted to beat up both brothers. They put it into the contract to verify that :D

Given that they needed a quality opponent quickly, I'm guessing they didn't have the leaverage to make that kind of demand. It still surprises me Haye agreed to it - kudos for doing what needed to be done to make the fight (almost) happen, but it always struck me as a terrible contract to sign.

The Vitali clause is standard for Vlad's contracts as well. The brothers have stated many times that in terms of marketing, their careers are intertwined.

It's the other way around: Klitschko has all the leverage over Chagaev, so Chagaev would sign almost any contact offered to him. If Chagaev balks, Vlad would move on to someone else.

It should come as no surprise that Haye agreed to the rematch and Vitali clauses. Just getting a big fight with Vlad is the biggest payoff Haye will ever see professionally; there was no way he would reject the contract clauses.

As for the "terrible" contract, it's unremarkable, really. The Klitschkos had similar arrangements while at Universum.

I thought the double-rematch clause was a first with Haye. You're saying others had a re-match Vlad, then fight Vitali contract? Who? Wasn't that part of the stink about the contract - it was a one of a kind?
