Is Chambers the best heavyweight The US currently has to offer?

Thompson is sloppy, but not as bad as he's made out to be. His size is effective against most 2nd tier HW's.

I'd take Thompson over Brock/Arreola and he'd give a little guy like Chambers big trouble, if not beat him.

 

An in-shape Calvin Brock is probably still the best American HW. Thompson comes close, but is even more average in every department than Brock and is old as hell. Chambers would be the best American HW if he had solid workrate, but he doesn't. Brock/Thompson could beat Eddie in very close fights.. maybe Chambers can improve though. Either way, the American HW division is embarassing right now. It's sad that Eric Fields, a cruiserweight prospect who hasn't proven anything yet and jokes like Arreola/Johnson are being mentioned.

 

Chambers in the first 4 rounds of todays fight looked like he had exceptional skills, even though he lost, the small amount of talent he did show was more than what Ive seen from Arreola, Thomas, Whiterspoon or any other up & coming American heavyweight. The definition of an American Heavyweight is not even the same anymore, Brewster has been the only one whose come closest to that expectation.

 

Their is JD Chapman.

 

Oh and like Chazz Witherspoon too.

 

A couple of pay days if lucky...vs dammed good money for sitting on the bench, and more bench slots for Football, basketball and an occasional big baseball player.

Don't have to deal with Don King, sr and jr.
Steady pay check.
Collages don't offer boxing as a major sport....

 

Boxing usually breeds its Champions in era's and locations where there isnt much else that life offers.

 

i had witherspoon losing his last fight to a cruiserweight journeyman on the malinaggi undercard

he got a gift hometown descion and is on the road to nowhere.

as soon as he faces a european he will lose.

 

It's either him or Chris Arreola.

Brock wont ever beat Chambers, Eddie controlled him. His work rate is an issue.

Chambers, Thompson, Brock, and Arreola are the top group at the moment. They need to fight each other and take a step forward.

I'd Like Arreola vs Brock and Thompson vs Chambers:good Its that or get a title shot. But Wlads lined up and King might be, as well too. So what else to do?

 

I agree with that. Brock could be quite a bit better if he'd show up in shape & get a real trainer instead of his dad.

Chambers stock actually rose a bit last night with me anyway. He did good early & showed some serious skill & speed.

The jury is still out on Arreola....................he hasn't fought anybody that's real good yet so we can't tell.

been fighting garbage and is a bit of an arm puncher but with training his power might improve.

he looks the part at least.

as always chin might be glass, i have no idea

but size/chin/speed/technique/feet/ he looks ok to me.

he is currently 6-0 and his management are scouring under flyover`s as we speak for his next opponent .

anybody know about him as an amatuer or near his gym in florida.
he is a possible in my book for 3 years in the future or so.
