I mean great comeback...and JCC was considered by lot of members of this forum as a potential "Great"...not long ago...
His dad is as likely to beat Durán later this month as Jr. is to become an impact player in the sport.
Five years ago, he was considered as future of boxing. Famous father and fan friendly style...And, only blind man could say that he was not very talented...On the other side, his way of life is/was not "sportman's way"...Just now, we can hope about "great comeback", and, surely it would be benefit for boxing, not only in Mexico...By the way, I've never consider him better than GGG, NEVER.........
I dont think so I just dont think his body is right for over 160 above there he isnt muscled enough to fill out a 168 or 170lb build and be effective He was a very big middle who just couldnt have the same advantages higher I dont think he beats any of the guys holding belts at 168 or 175
both careers definitely need that flame to garner attention Chavez looks done and Quillin had been treading water prior to a embarrassing first round loss
I just dont see the talent you refer to. He was an ok fighter who bludgeoned guys smaller than himself. His great chin and body punching prowess were the result of him fightning smaller men. Against guys his own size his chin and power seem mediocre. Mediocre kind of sums the dude up. I mediocre talent given every possible advantage due to his legitimately great dad and subsequent marketability.
I would like to see him next year against Zurdo Ramirez at 175. Honestly, I have not been watching Zurdo, but I read that dude is very solid and seems too big for 168. SO, it could be very lucrative and fan friendly match between two Mexicans. I can partly agree with Malph, I despise weight games and fighting smaller opponents (JCC and Canelo), but JCC is/was surely more then "mediocre talent"...
