Is he above Benn in most rankings? And should he be?

Well until their rematch he was always ranked above Benn in real life, but that rematch changed people's perceptions of the two.

I actually think neither will ultimately be remembered as great SMW fighters.

    Just Great British fighters.

Top 10 at SMW sounds reasonable, though, since there aren't so many others. RJJ, Calzaghe, Toney, Ward, Collins, Ottke, Kessler, Froch... Not saying all these should be ahead of them either.

I'd probably put Groves or DeGale above if I'm being objective.

Groves, even though he lost clearly two times in his prime?

When he beat Eubank Jr he was probably the best SMW in the whole world.

That's something that Eubank never achieved once in his whole career.

I get that before the likes of Nunn etc the division basically was devoid of a top ten, but Eubank never even broke the top 2 in his division.

All his title defences are meaningless if he wasn't defending the title of being the number 1 in the world.

That same world had higher ranked champions in it, at all times throughout Eubanks "reign"

Groves and DeGale wouldn't of been in the top 20 back then. People don't box today, the depth is ridiculously thin - gyms in America are empty and few and far between.

There's only been one unified 'SMW' champion, so in that respect everyone else is meaningless apart from one fight ever. And he only had basic ordinary fighters Lacy and Kessler to beat - hardly end of the rainbow stuff.

Either your trolling because you have no life, or something else I won't risk saying and getting booted for.

You can't be ranked higher than the world champion - there was no 'super' champion etc. All the other world champions were equal best unless they fought eachother.

Yeah what's you're something else that justifies why I consider Nunn, Toney, Liles, Mitchell, Jones, Benn all to have been superior during Eubanks reign? What could that be?
