If he was the 2nd best I'd agree with that, but he never even cracked the top 2 at any point.

When the rest of us informed him it may be a bit of a mismatch 'H2H' (Jones eats him), he replied with ATG P4P Oscar, Shane, Canelo, Pac crap

There wasn't a top two. There were four champions! Unless they all fight, you can't objectively rank. You can only subjectively rank

He made his money, and for that I'm happy for him.

But he never wanted to fight the best in the world, he made it very abundantly clear.

He was happy making his millions against British and European opposition.

Happy sitting number 3 in the rankings.

Happy never having to face Toney or Jones or Nunn or Liles.

No one ranks Eubank over Nunn or Toney. No one ranks him over Liles or Jones neither.

He certainly has a case before Toney moved up. Perhaps until RJJ moved up even.

He fought the same opposition as everyone else. From all over the world. They all had a belt.

Toney or Jones didn't fight Eubank either.

Eubank had already won the fight he couldn't win (Watson II), so wasn't going to risk his or anyone elses life with a fight like that again unless they were mandatory.

It was very important for boxing that Eubank remained champion, he was literally changing the game in many ways and bringing so much more money and interest. It is now a giant. So to face McCallum or Toney at middle while killing himself to make weight was very risky business, the chance of losing was so high and the game might not be what it is today.

I wouldn't have him over Cordoba or Nunn. And he out right admitted he had no interest in fighting Nunn.

Toney quickly established himself as the top dog when he moved up. Then Roy took that mantle. Below them probably Benn from his fight with Eubank (which the majority thought he won, didn't they) until his loss to Malinga.

This kinda nonsense explains why he isn't a great SMW.
