The WBA guy was always top dog.

But then Toney and Jones as IBF usurped him due to Toney already holding a ko victory over Nunn

Roy Jones himself said in 1993 that the one fighter who would trouble him and who he had reservations about facing was Chris Eubank.

    I take that over lufcrazy

Yeah, but that's probably a styles thing as much as anything.

On top of being able to pull out a perfect punch from nowhere at the end of a gruelling fight and almost end you

What happened to Watson is not nonsense.

But his failure to fight any top opposition from then onwards is exactly why he isn't a great SMW champion.

Remember Manny Steward stating Calzaghe might be the greatest fighter of all time period after the Kessler fight, when you look at who he had beaten.

Manny and Toney and Jones knew a guy like Lindell Holmes was of such quality and danger after his sparring with Tommy, James and Roy, and yet Eubank brushed him aside as just another opponent.

They were subjectively the best fighters on the planet mind you, regardless of weight. And Benn, Rocchigiani etc were certainly 'top opposition'

If we look at McCallum-Watson and Eubank-Watson I, with the sound off, and Eubank-Thornton and Toney-Thornton, Eubank is doing slightly better than those two for six rounds with his reflexes and then just gets on his bike instead of trying to stop them or staying in the pocket

McCallum-Toney I&II are the two greatest displays of 101 boxing in the history of the sport

Watching the DeGale-Groves fight is actually laughable - at one point they are both side-stepping back and forth for 10 seconds staring at eachother!

Benn was, but Eubank couldn't beat him at SMW. In fact Benn moved above him in the rankings after that fight.

    A magazine. All subjective crap.

    Eubank already beat Benn clean.
