Clearly not if Eubank already beat Benn at the weight (middle/super-middle - same thing). What more do you have to do to be ranked above someone

Froch vs Groves is a better rivalry than Eubank vs Benn.

Eubank was ranked above Benn until the rematch, when Benn was unlucky not to win.

After the rematch Benn was ranked higher.

I loved Eubank, him Bruno and Naz were great for British boxing and captured the hearts in a way that Lewis or Benn never could.

But Eubank stepped up to SMW and picked up a vacant belt against someone he'd already beaten.

There was a tragedy and Eubank decided he would not fight the guys ranked above him.

This is why he never broke into the top two of the rankings at any point, as far as I can tell, and this is why I wonder if there's ever been a consensus "top ten ATG" in a division that has never been inside the top 2 during his actual career.

No one truly believes Eubank was ever the best fighter in any division he competed in.

He was sharing the division with some of the best we've ever seen, lb4lb. Eubank himself stated in 93 that Nunn, Toney and himself were equal best in the world of every boxer above welterweight.

Eubank stated a lot of things and still does.
    Most of it is bollocks.

Rocky Hatton would have beaten Mayweather when he beat Zoo, he even said so himself.

Carl Froch would have beaten Ward in Nottingham, he even said so himself.

Tyson would knock Lewis out and then eat his babies, he even said so himself.
