I've only watched a couple Chris Eubanks fights including the Saunders fight, and while he seems to have good fundementals he is still a Eueo-Level fighter looking at his resume and experience, hell, he can even be classified as a prospect...

.. but with that said, is this a step up or a step down for Golovkin?

Step down. CEJ is not a top ten fighter. I'm very disappointed.

Lemieux win was really good, but nothing can beat Golovkin taking "p4p" Canela's baby nuts and belt. That was Golovkin's best win, bar none. Golovkin is now p4p and HoF worthy for sure.

More like a step to the side. Euro level isn't necessarily a bad thing. He's beat a good amount of decent fighters, and beat them in great fashion. I also believe he has improved a lot since the Saunders fight. Because he is still young it could turn out to be a better win than now thought to be. Worse than Lemieux, Murray, and Geale in terms of how proven he is. But certainly better than guys like Monroe,Stevens,Macklin etc.

I challenge you to rate 10 middlweights who are better(not including Canelo).

The one that wasn't over a 22 year old who had only gone over 5 rounds once.

At world level, less proven than Murray, Lemieux, Geale and Rubio, on par with Stevens, Macklin, Proksa. He may yet prove to be better than all those guys but It is what It is for now.

You seriously have no clue if you don't think CEJ is a top ten fighter.

    1. Golovkin
    2. Saunders
    3. Jacobs
    4. Lemieux
    5. Lee
    6. Quillin
    7. N'Dam
    8. Heiland
    9. Eubank
    10. Khurtsidze

Since N'Dam might attend the Olympics, he might need to stop being ranked. That pushes Eubank up to #8. Really, I don't mind anyone ranking Eubank above Heiland. Heiland hasn't done anything since he beat Macklin while Eubank has been beating some good competition.

Also, Eubank had a close fight with Saunders who is now #2 or #3 middleweight in the world. Eubank is a really good fighter, but I'd probably rank this win slightly under the Lemieux win.

ahhh ...the excuses.....poor conditioning....poor dispersal of energy....marks of a dumb fighter....an arrogant dumb fighter who thought he could go in and blast out an old veteran and got abused for it

even a hammered kelly pavlik was able to take out rubio

Everyone that Golovkin has fought since Proksa, (except Wade) is more proven than Eubanks. This is definitely not a step up.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Didn't you just say Eubank isn't a top 10 fighter. You ranked him at number 9.

I'll agree with you that Pavlik>22 year old Lemieux.
You're deluding yourself if you don't think fighters can improve from when they were younger.

Not the same Lemieux that went through a very good gauntlet and was beating his opponents in great fashion: Rosado, Guerrero, and N'Dam. If you think those losses mean anything, you clearly don't know anything about boxing.

I guess we need to call Clinton Mitchell to the HoF because he beat Bernard Hopkins too. Effing hate the demographic who knows nothing about boxing.

Uh, no. Not sure where the confusion is. I re-read my post. I'm not getting where I said Eubank wasn't a top 10 fighter. I also wouldn't rank him in my top 10 list if he wasn't.
