to answer the question honestly...probably a lateral step

which at this point is prob just as bad as a step down...anything but a step up is pretty much pointless at this point

he isnt that improved...i mean...i didnt say fighters cant improve...and he prob learned a lesson about conserving energy...i just dont see him as anything good....if he were good they would have brought in a legit 160lb fighter for his comeback fighter...not a 154lb guy that got stopped last time out

Cotto and Geale aren't MWs anymore.

I guess we just disagree, I think he's a solid fighter and a decent win for Golovkin, We'll see how he does in the future. And he just wanted a showcase against an easy opponent since he just lost and wanted to gain some confidence back.

And if they leave the division then I'm sure we'll see two new entries.

Heiland is nailed on for top ten in this scenario. CEJ might get lucky and be bumped in, I'll see what TBRB say.

A someone else said Cotto and Geale aren't middlweights anymore. And I fail to see how N'dam can be ranked higher, he's an ok fighter but Eubank did better against Saunders than N'dam did against Quillen and Lemieux.

Laughable list. Canelo isn't champion, Cotto moved down, Lee shouldn't be above Lemieux in any scenario. Khurtsidze has a good win over a prospect, but Eubank Jr. has more depth. Geale hasn't done anything since losing to both Cotto and Golovkin. He shouldn't be in the top 10 anymore. Also, Geale is moving to 168 lbs. forgot to say.

His wins over Murray and Lemieux are legitimately good wins. They're not A graders but they're still 'good' fighters.
Golovkin has no wins over at-or-near prime ATG's or high-mid level HOF's, but Mayweather had 19 years in pro boxing and hasn't any of these wins, either. So they're both alike in that regard.

Well I prefer TBRB rankings to Mexi-Box rankings.

    My middleweight top 10:

    Golovkin
    Saunders
    Jacobs
    Andy Lee
    Lemieux
    Quillin
    N'Dam
    Eubank
    Heiland
    Korobov

I'd put Canelo at #4 if he ever decides which weight class he belongs to.

Ring magazine's divisional rankings are the best imo(even if the p4p rankings are bad).
