I watched the fight and there are somethings in commons between the two. Mainly the defense Branco has more speed but a little less power then Clottey. He had never been knocked out or hurt before fighting Cotto. :think

    Gatti hurt and dropped him.

Anyway, I think Clottey is more similar to Abdullaev than any of Cotto's other opponents. The main difference is Clottey can counter, but Abdullaev couldn't.

They are both lower B level fighters. So yea they have something in common. Actually Branco was more like a C+ level.

There defense is the same. the both boxers in fact there record was almost exactley the same record before the cotto fight. they both love the uppercut.

Though Clottey is a better counter puncher. and clottey is Stronger of course. oh and Clottey clinches more too.:deal

When you get through...They're two different fighters. Unlike Brancho...Clottey will not fold! You best to believe that!:good

Clottey has been in with top level fighters, Branco had never been in with anyone remotely close to Cotto, in fact Gatti beat his ass.

I never said they where equal Clottey is better. but I'm making the point that cotto has fought the style before and won't be to thrown off by what he sees when they fight I think as long as he can handle clotteys power which he should. he will win just by being more active.

He doesn't need to fold. Mosley didn't but he lost. Ndu didn't fold but he lost. Clottey won't fold ether but he will lose you can believe that! :good

And Abdullaev is a constant pressure fighter Clottey isnt a pressure fighter only against much smaller fighters does he pressure constantly. he's more of boxer.

clottey is a beast, cotto has never faced a guy as good as clottey would be.well mosley and thats it, clottey can hit, he can parry, he has good speed and defence.he his a handful.on paper cotto might be the favor but if cotto wins i would not be surprised.i might have a i told you so speach.

Thats really pushing it...but the stylistic similarities are there I guess.

Its really no good comparing them..because Miguel was physically bigger and stronger against that italian string bean. Whereas its the reverse in this situation.

Miguel beat him up, was able to muscle him and use his skills to dominate...he will have to use a different gameplan this time around..but he will win, no worries.
