Is Clottey's next opponent going to suffer a serious backlash?

OK, Clottey looked like **** against Pacquiao, but those of us who know a bit about this game knew he would struggle to win a round in that one, Pac is just far too smart and too fast for the Grand Master.

But, we should not forget that Clottey on his night can be a strong, accurate, problematic opponent for anyone, and is capable of some decent boxing. We saw this in his fights with Cotto and Margarito amongst others.

I have a couple of Ghanaian friends, and they said that Clottey really did come under serious criticism at home for his performance. He has also been widely and scathingly criticized by pretty much every sector of the boxing community - media, fans, other boxers, insiders, etc.

My question is: in Clottey's next fight, do you think he will be more angry, aggressive, active, and motivated than we have ever seen him?

If so, someone could be in for a bit of a beating. Think of Clottey's best rounds vs Cotto - could he fight like that for an entire fight if he was desperate to regain his pride and reputation?

Or, is he incapable of this? :bbb

The only thing that Clottey's next opponent will suffer from is boredom

Most of the people bashing him probably never seen him fight before. His performance in the Pac fight was basically an average performance from him. The difference is he wasn't fighting Judah, Marg, or Cotto, he had Pacquaio in front of him.

I think he'll continue to fight as he always has, and he'll be successful for the most part.

    Don't think so.

He might say he'll up his output as he's donee in the past. But while he'll open up more against his next opponent than he did against Pac, he'll never be the kind of guy who can keep up a fast pace for the duration or for an extended amount of rounds. It's programmed in him to play defense and then offense, not combine the two.

    Maybe

but Money changes fighters and Clottey now has enough of it to live a more than Luxurious lifestyle in his homeland.

I'm sure Arum will have Clottey bounce back with a couple of smaller fights before he gets back in there with a top guy. Hell, I'd still favor him to beat anyone who's even close to contending for that worthless IBF trinket.

Clottey can afford to relax a bit. I think he got around $3M from the PAC fight. That's a lot of money if spent in Ghana.

I think Clottey can bounce back from this humiliating defeat. He still has it to compete at the top level. Look at Mosley, that dude is already 38 years old and he's still about to face the biggest fight of his career.

I'd be surprised if Arum doesn't anything with Clottey. He doesn't give two shits about him.

Clottey is still capable of giving problems to his opponents, but i doubt if people would still pay to watch him cover up.
