Conditioning and body shape is not synonymous.

Sumo wrestlers do extensive training on their legs muscles and much jogging.

What about the fans ? Do we as the paying public not deserve a prize fighter who's in shape ? You think fighters like Robinson,Marciano ,Ali or even Foreman would ever show up to the ring looking like Aerola or Eddie Chambers ?? Hell no !!Is disrespectful to the sport !

Sumo matches are often measured in seconds.

Sumo players are "fit" if by "fit" you mean suited for their intended purpose. People need to stop this nonsense "It's ok for boxers to be fat cause sumo wrestlers are fat..."

Similarly Fedor is fit for MMA.

How do you think a sumo wrestler would fare in a marathon? Pretty shite? That's cause they are not fit for that purpose. Similarly Fedor would not do very well in a marathon (probably better than the average person, but worse than any serious marathon runner).

How well would a sumo wrestler do in boxing? Absolutely shite. And Fedor would only do a little bit better.

Conditioning is very important in boxing, whatever the weight limit. Marathon running is not boxing is not sumo is not MMA.

Agreed. I think its a disgrace to see a fat mother****er like Arreola coming to fight looking like a darts player when Vitali will come in great shape. I mean there fighting for one of the most famous titles in the world.

    It is weighed too heavily.

I am more focused on skill disparity.

Sumo wrestling is not boxing. The object of sumo is to throw your opponent out of the ring, therefore being heavy is an asset.

Boxing requires movement and being elusive, being fat is a hindrance to that.

Just because sumo's are built well for their sport, does not mean they are fit enough for other sports...when was the last time you saw a fat guy win a gold medal for gymnasics? When was the last time you saw a fat guy be a jockey? HAve you ever seen a midget play pro basketball... every sport has certain aspects taht are conducive to different body types:
Carrying around excess fat is a hinderance in boxing. Can you be a good boxer and still be fat? The anwer is yeas. Can you be the be a fat boxer and still be performing at 100% of your potential? The answer is no. When a boxer comes in fat, you know he's not at 100%.

Some people CAN'T get ripped, they can get big but not ripped. Just because they don't look like zeus doesn't mean they aren't conditioned

You're confusing being a body beautiful (Wlad and Haye), with being well conditioned (Povetkin and Fedor). Arreola is not ripped at 230, but he is clearly more fluid, faster and has better stamina. Neither Povetkin or Fedor are ripped, but they do lots of work to have superior stamina. Do you think for a second that Arreola could throw 930 punches over 12 rounds? Povetkin can.

conditioning is a must for any fighter.sam peter and chris aerreola are fine examples of poorly conditioned fighters.and this will come back to haunt aerreola when he battles the big v.:yep
