Personally, I wouldn't put my name on putting him in, but I wouldn't be up in arms if her were in. I don't think it's a farce that he would be included, but he doesn't stand out to me. I respect what he's done, and I respect him as a champion, as he's accomplished more than a great deal of fighters have or ever will.
If Gatti winds up in the HOF (and most agree he likely will) it's stupid not to think that Spinks should. Otherwise, if the HOF were as selective as it ought to be (and inducted long-overdue eligible folk like Donald Curry and Joey Archer instead of recent fighters on the strength of their popularity alone) then no, Spinks would not be a viable candidate.
No not even close. Gonzalez was washed up,Piccirillo mediocre,Latimore borderline contender, Karmazin good but not outstanding, Mayorga fight could have gone either way, kod by Judah in the rematch. Hes a good fighter but that resume doesnt make a HOF fighter:nono Spinks would have to beat Williams and Martinez to even come close.
I personally don't think he should be, but I'm sure he will be voted in the future just for being undisputed even for a short time. I've seen lesser fighters getting inducted in there I'm sure he will. Might be borderline HOFer.
Basing your suggestion that Spinks is hof-worthy or even more on his resume is about as awful as basing it on his entertainment value.
