If barry mcguigan is in then so is cotto in my mind, wins over future HOF mosley, and wins over champs at 140 and 47,to my mind yes, and it is definetly yes if he beats margo as well

One win with Floyd Mayweather Jr. will probably seal the deal. But if PBF doesn't fight Cotto, then he should fight and beat Antonio Margarito, Kermit Cintron, Joshua Clottey, Andre Berto, and Paul Williams. If he can accomplish that, then he's definitely in. In my previous post, he's barely in already, but if Cotto wants to seal the deal without any criticisms from other boxing fans, then these fights are necesssary. These five fighters are very good fighters and are still at their primes. Unfortunately, they are not great fighters, and this is why he needs to fight all these five boxers.

Nothing speaks louder than fighting great fighters at their primes. It speaks louder than winning championships in many respects. In the 147 lb. weight division, Cotto doesn't have that opportunity as there are no great fighters at their prime right now in that weight division with the exception to PBF who bounces around in weight. He will have to settle with very good fighters at their primes. Nothing wrong with that by the way, they're still not easy fights.

    never ...

good fighter but not hall of fame worthy ... he would have to rack up the rest of the belts in the division and then move up and win one at 154 ...

That's what it takes. Or, at least should take. :good

Cotto's a good fighter. I don't doubt, in time, he will unquestionably qualify for induction.

A win over Margo and Clottey would put him over regardless of whether or not the Mayweather fight happens. He's already close.
