Cotto's resume fR surpassed Curry's... In addition, win or lose...Cotto never end duck a tough fight ...at any weight class...like I said...first ballot HOF... If he avenges his defeats against PBF and Pacquiao...then he enter the club of ATGs...but not until then...
Not a fair determining factor at all, it's highly unlikely that either of those two fights get made. One because Cotto and Pac have the same trainer, and there is no longer even close of a fair weight for them to have the fight at. And two, because people feel that Cotto can't beat Floyd there is no need for a rematch.
Curry was a hell of a fighter during his prime. That WW era was pretty solid, it may get overlooked because it followed such a great glamour era in the late 70s/early 80s (SRL, Duran, Benitez, Hearns). Not just Floyd, but WW versions of Trinidad, De La Hoya, Whitaker, and Quartey would have their hands full with Curry and Marlon Starling (assuming Marlon brought his "A" game).
First ballot is usually reserved to ATG's. His resume is not an ATG resume by ANY means. His H2H ability certainly isn't anywhere near ATG either - a big factor when considering a fighters greatness.
he is just short of being a ATG he lost too 2 class A fighters when he stepped up and fought class A fighters he lost
Cotto has one title, with no defences. Wins between welter and middle. Sounds similar to Luis Manuel Rodriguez. Only with far, far less quality and LMR actually deserving to have made a few defences. Against Emile Griffith. Who is one of the 30-40 greatest fighters of all time. Not Sergio Martinez.
How many of Rodriguez's fights have you seen? I heard he was a hell of a fighter. Any recommendations?
