I think it is, I mean its the two best Welterweights coming of two big wins.... its going to be a great fight. I could also be the lack of big fights in the last few months.. Other than DLH-FORBES which was a classic :patsch what else what we seen?

Ohh wait... the Holt -Torres fight was Hot.. but this fight will be a great one. Many are writting off Margarito like it will be easy, but Margarito has a chin and if a tough fighter.

I was more excited about Calzaghe-Kessler, Pacquiao-Marquez II and all three Vazquez-Marquez fights.

The only other fight that has gotten me up like this was the Pavlik - Miranda fight. And before that the W.Klitschko - Sam Peter fight.

I hate to say it but the Gay la Hoya/Gayweather fight was the most anticipated fight since Lewis/Tyson. The promotion for that fight was brilliant....shame the fight itself didn't come close to living up to the hype. I think boxing fans are salivating over this mathup (I know I am) but the casual fan probably doesn't even know who Margarito is....and probably not even Cotto.

I was extremely excited about Mosley vs Cotto and Pacquiao vs Marquez 2, but I would say this fight at least matches those two in potential. This fight could truely be one to remember, and the best thing about it, regardless of what some members think, either fighter has the tools to pull the victory out. Cotto is the better boxer, but could his chin stand up to the constant pressure that Margarito will undoubtedly bring to the table? Will Maragrito be outclassed? Who knows. It's going to be a great night.

We can get fireworks like Torres-Holt or it can be very "boring" or technical as a PBF fight. We all know what Margarito brings but Cotto will most likely dictate as Tony will probably want to move forward and pressure Cotto. How Cotto will deal with it we'll see on July 26th.

Anyways, I wonder how this fight will stand next to DLH-Trinidad super fight.

Nahh, De La Hoya - Mayweather was probably the most anticipated bout in the last few years. The #1 p4p fighter in the world VS boxing's most famous active fighter... it had a lot of appeal to hardcore and casual boxing fans alike. Of course the fight didn't exactly live up to the hype.

The most? Maybe not. It could be one of the most anticipated fights but not the most.

The Pac/JMM rematch; Abraham/Miranda rematch; The Taylor/Pavlik 1 should all be part of that list.

On this forum or outside it?

Because Floyd vs Hatton/DLH captivated the mainstream like no fights have done in a long time.

The excitement comes mostly from the anticipation of a myth being deflated once in for all contrasted with the technicolor dreams of some Margarito fans.

Other than that, the level of anticipation is no different than any other A vs. B class boxers matchup.
