Is Cotto - Margarito the most anticipated fight in the last couple years?

in my opinion, if you arent watching this fight, you arent a sports fan. Federer Vs Nadal my ass. Neither of them was getting punched.

    thats too dismissive....

i'm not saying you're wrong. but i'm looking forward to that opening bell as much as you are and your allegiances won't be so smug when it sounds.

    well i'm a fighter but i disagree.

you got to be young to say that - if you don't appreciate the skill and fitness it takes to do what they did.

Never said I didnt appreciate their talent in there sport. But how can it compare to the brutality and epic that is a boxing match?

Never implied that the fight will be a cakewalk. Margarito's athleticism, size and workrate would be a challenge to any boxer.

But Cotto is a high-caliber boxer, not far from elite, who is a few steps ahead of Margarito in several categories and who can adjust quickly to the opponent.

It won't be long before Cotto figures out Margarito. Once he does, watch all this athleticism, size and workrate become less and less of a factor.

The better boxer will win (as it's very often the case).

That's what separates the champion from all his challengers.

Ring smarts, that's right, one aspect that is too often overlooked to the profit of workrate, chin, reach, etc.

Big part of performing in sports, boxing included, has to do with mental qualities: focus, strategy, attitude, confidence, smarts, name it...

I counter with the Williams sister. Not very dedicated, mostly focused on other things, but still considered the best in the world.

Same here, I would say a notch above the anticipation for Calzaghe/Kessler.

Just beacuse HBO was always making a lot of moise about Floyd. Now that ungratefull SOB is talking **** about HBO. I was very interested on DLH/PBF fight and still don't understand why DLH stop using that jab. But I know from the beggining Hatton/PBF was a joke. You all saw Hatton/Collazo. What were you expecting??? I will never understand how they made Hatton a mandatory challenger @ 147lbs. He never earned it.

Probably yes, there has never been such an evenly close fight, not at this level anyway. Well not for a while.
Some recent big fights like PBF vs DLH, PBF vs Hatton, Calzaghe vs Hopkins, Pacquaio vs Barrera have all been big money fights that have been fairly close in level of ability but there has always been one who had too much class for the other, and we all predicted the correct winner, or most of us anyway.
Cotto vs Margarito is a pick 'em fight. And another thing we know is it is going to be an all out brawl.
