Is Cotto p4p #1 if he beats Pacquiao?

    Cotto could defeat Vitali or Hopkins but he would still be rated top 5, not #1. Heck he could even defeat Mayweather and Mayweather would still be consider #1. If Manny beats him hes consider #1, but then if Cotto defeats him, he still top 5. Get the point? Cotto doesnt get enough credit for what he has done for boxing. Sometimes it is true, its all politics and who has the power that convinces the people that dont know anything.

    id root for cotto against mayweather but i just dont see Him beating floyd, hes just not quick enough, Only people i see beating Floyd is Paul williams, Shane Mosley, and MAYBE MAYBE manny pacquio

    Very good point Truth, Scar even said that for Floyd to be #1 he has to fight and beat the winner of Pac Cotto, meaning if Cotto wins he is #1 not just based off of what Scar says though its the truth, How can Floyd be #1 if he beats pac but Cotto not?

    Hell yea he deserves to be number 1 if...excuse me WHEN he beats Pac!! why not cotto is putting everything on the line..his belt,the catchweight,he taking smaller cut of the money...Pac needs to put something on the line too

    No. He rises on the list but not #1.

    Avenge the loss to Margarito(which I believe he will) and beat Mayweather then we can argue if he belongs there.

    For the people that say Mayweather is #1 and #2, can you mention any Mayweather win over the past five years that's better than Cotto's win over Mosley, Clottey and Pacquiao if he beats him? I don't think so. Mayweather should be behind Mosley which is his weight division.

    Okay so since we want to do it like that, Lets see in order for Floyd to get the #1 spot he should beat both Mosley and Pac and Clottey.
