After watching the HBO Countdown, I must say no. Here's several reaqsons why:

    1. His wife left him Most likely for cheating, probably for domestic abuse.
    2. He can't get along with his uncle (ie Dysfunctional family)
    3. He shaves his eyebrows in a very feminine fashion.
4 He likes to have his ass massaged by other men during training.

After the Hbo countdown I'm rooting for Margarito. He is a strong family man with solid values. Not a suspect metro/bisexual like Cotto.

He never reveals his character on TV,maybe if you know him personally. He had kids since 17 and you see in the countdown he is a good father.Dont know what to ssay about his wife/uncle/eyebrows/massage problems

My point is, that if you flip it, these are arguments brought up about Mayweather. Yet noone criticizes Cotto.

I dont really care if Cotto drowns little infants at midnight in his spare time. I'm watching him to fight, and fight good. I dont watch him to be a role model. What he does in private, I dont care about.

I think Cotto just takes his career more seriously than he did his marriage. Not a good idea.

    I doubt he cheated.

I've liked Cotto from the moment I saw him.

I like Margarito as well and now, more than ever.

Yeah, I suppose she really hates him. He probably beats her really bad, look at her......shocking that she would even go with him to the airport and go to his fights with him....like she has always done for all of his fights.

    2. Total comraredie on Team Cotto

    By Carlos Narvaez

The world champion Miguel Cotto and his trainer Evangelista Cotto are on the same page although many hope and pray that this is the contrary.

The rumors of their split have served as a vote of confidence to his rivals, as well did his overstay in the Junior Welterweight division.
Yesterday Cotto and a part of his team left for the city of Las Vegas, Nevada en route for his 5th defense of his title against the veteran Mexican Antonio Margarito - as today Evangelista, his uncle and trainer, takes a flight with the other part of Team Cotto.

Later, they will be reunite in the afteroon-evening and restart tomorrow in total comaraderie their workout regimen for the final week to maintain the weight to the 147 lb limit for Friday's weighin at the MGM Grand Hotel. Yesterday, Evangelista took a few minutes to analyze his pupil who without a doubt he categorizes as a "super boxer/fighter".

"We haven't changed anything drastic in our routines. We've continued our regimen and have worked simply so that nothing goes wrong. Miguel is a boxer who has acquired a great deal of skills throughout the years. The difference between a normal fighter and a great fighter is that a great fighter can think and adjust in the ring and in that respect Miguel is a super boxer/fighter as he has proven and has in hard fights", expressed Evangelista.

Cotto has an impeccable record of 32-0 with 26 knockouts and in his last bunch of fights has taken on Ricardo Torres, Pauli Malignaggi, Carlos Quintana, Zab Judah and "Sugar" Shane Mosley. In his last bout, he simply destroyed Mexican Alfonso Gomez.

This resume brings this response from his trainer.

"I am very proud of his accomplishments and with the best intentions of still working with him and with whatever comes next. I'm a trainer who doesn't think of only having 1 champion but in having multiple champions. In our training regime, we haven't changed anything and what we have is a winning formula. Sometimes there will be disagreements but everyone knows my form of work and my character. All of my fighters may be bothered by it but they understand fundamentally that everything is for their own good and for their best benefits", he explained.

But Evangelista also has another answer for those commentators, reporters and internet speculators who wish to stir stories that his relationship with Miguel is not solid.

"Miguel and I have very similiar characteristics. We are both very serious and at times people think we annoy or bother each other. It seems to have been presented to various people as though to leave a bad impression without actually knowing what is happening. But here what counts is dedication and how it is applied here. Also, look how much he has matured in the 32 fights he has had".

As things are, Cotto resumes working as cool and relaxed as ever, in what could be a sign of another great victory, this time before a 5'11" boxer, strong willed and determined.

"We'll be doing some low-intensity workouts to sweat and maintain the weight until Friday arrives. Until then, we are very much already prepared and ready to go".
