He's noticeably more talented than Vargas. Cotto did everything right against Margarito except maybe clinch more. But what can you do if the guy in front of you has the chin of iron and everything you land flush does nothing? Cotto was boxing beautifully. Against any other fighter, those shots would've had an effect as the fight wore on.

Cotto is already a P4P boxer.

I think Cotto just ran into a style that is difficult for him. Who else could have constantly shook off those bombs Margarito marched through? And don't forget one very important thing. Antonio's been fighting since he was 15, and has always taken punishment. He may have peaked against Cotto, I'm sure it was the fight of his life. In a year from now, Margarito could be on the slide, exposed by styles he's vunerable to, and Cotto could be back on top.

I agree with you, everybody knows what Margarito's style is, and Cotto was boxing the same kind of fight that Margarito is vulnerable to, but Margo's will was too much:-( Cotto will be back on top :good

Wins over a Prime Quartey and Prime Winky (close fight or not) are better then anything Cotto's done to date.

A win over Shane Mosley, even at his age, was very impressive. I'm not comparing but Mosley is a great fighter.

Does Cotto have any tainted victories like Vargas holds over Winky...???...Do we expect Cotto to put on 100 pounds between fights, and cause delays...has Cotto ditched his well mannered demeanor to mouth off like a loud punk begging for an ass whooping...???

...no I don't think Cotto has began to rival Vargas.

I'm not sure if I would call a 154 lb, fight once-an-eon Ike Quartey prime.

But I agree that Vargas fought well and it was an impressive win.

Going an even or close to even (7-5 Winky IMO) with a terrific fighter in Wright is no small feat.

Oh yeah how embarrasing is the fact that VARGAS was juiced up for the DLH fight and still got KO'd!!

Don't think people remember how good prime Vargas was the way this is written off so quickly, he was very talented.

Vargas was tested quicker and in bigger fights than Cotto earlier.
